I am not really sure if it does make a difference but when i downgraded i had the WLAN switch off and it worked fine.

Same goes for me, no wifi. I used a guide which was posted here by FreePlay and in my opinion it is quite clear. I'm new to the PSP scene and i succesfully downgraded my 2.01.

I'm sure most of us do know how to manually upgrade to 2.5 or 2.6 as that's not written in the guide.

Put the EBOOT.PBP file in DOWNDATERTEST.

DOWNDATER\DUMP\ (containing the 1.50 dump)
DOWNDATER\PRX\ (containing the 1.50 UPDATE .PRX files)
DOWNDATER\inputfl.bin
DOWNDATER\outputfl.bin

IF THIS IS ALL OK, YOU SHOULD BE SET:
* The two files and two folders mentioned above
* PSP\GAME\DOWNDATERTEST\EB OOT.PBP
* eLoader
* GTA
* A PSP THAT DID NOT COME WITH 2.60 PRE-INSTALLED

Now... Go into GTA, go into eLoader, and run "DOWNDATER TEST".

The Memory Stick light will blink for about 2-3 minutes.

Afterwards, your PSP should reboot.

You should get the blue "Reset to defaults" screen. Press O.

The PSP will reboot again. You will have to define basic settings again.

You might notice a "Disc could not be read" error.

If you do, take the battery out, put it back in, and reboot.

PS.

No the Final Downgrader does not include the eLoader but eLoader is quite easy to obtain. About the "clean 1.5" i have no idea, i have tried a few backed-up games to see if they work and they did in my case.

Ok i downgraded. Yes the downgrader from deturb works on a 32mb memstick and after the downgrade you will have 14mb left. But you can just delete everthing after your done. But remember to BACK UP YOUR FILES. I forgot to and formated my stick so i lost all my saves :'(
Anyways is there some way i can play games that require a 2.0 upgrade. I heard somthing like mph or sumthting but i dont know what its called exatly. Can anyone give me a link to that program?? Also any other recomendations for hombrew for the 1.5?

PS. It does not make a difference if the wlan switch is turned off or on. Mine was on and it worked fine.

Ok... I just heard about some guy on the PSPapocalypse forums (deturb's forum that had deturb's exe), his name is jeffsays, and he says that his got bricked using this thing, although he never said anything about himself not having a ta-082 psp, and deturb doesn't really give a sufficient warning about that, so I don't know. As soon as this is cleared up I will downgrade.

dont worry you wont get bricked i didnt and like 500 or more people didnt. Downgrade and youll be on your way to 1.5 world:)

Anyways if you want another walkthrough on deturbs then heres mine.

1.BACKUP ALL YOUR FILES TO YOUR PC!!!!
2.Format your memstick.
3.Download the auto downgrader. It will automatically install it. Remeber to select the destination to where your psp is in. Also make sure your psp is connected to the pc lol.
4.Plug your adapter into your psp.
5.Init GTA
6.Run the program downgrader 2.5/2.6.
7.Wait for the screen to pass. should take 1 min.
8.Press o when the screen goes blue and has a bunch of chines words and more.
9.Setup your psps time and everything.
10.When it says and if it says the disc could not be read then just take out the battery for about 5-10 mins and it should work.
11.Download devhook and enjoy your 1.5 with 2.0 screen

I dont know anyone else wanna fill him in?? I dont think it makes a difference though as long as you dont have the patched version and you have the eloader then you should be ok.

I used a Dutch version of GTA: LCS and on it's spine it says: ULES-00151
I bought it second hand tough plus i just took the guess ;) Happy it worked as am an happy 1.5 user now.

Easy downgrader has the eboot included. Just tell it your firmware.

yea but in this the file size is different from the one's at the easy downgrader.. and in this it doesnt ask for firmware anymore...

Well the easy downgrader uses the regular final version which has two separate eboots for 2.5/2.6. the auto-loading final version can be used for both firmwares, and yes the auto one is smaller, but I heard that they both work (as long as for the easy downgrader you select the correct firmware)

I used the Downgrader_Final.exe from Deturb's place from Rapidshare... and I used the eloader097_nocache.exe from noobz.eu (I used the eLoader Super Bock alternative) Is that ok?

I formatted my memory stick... twice...
reset PSP default settings, once, but do I have to turn off parental controls or do I just leave all of the settings alone?

and I will run the eloader at 222mhz.

My wlan switch is set to on (flipped up)
and I deleted the downgrader_final's readme file from the root directory of the PSP, figure I don't need it.

Yes it's all okay, you should have a 1.50 PSP in no time...do it now and post your results. :)

I'm gonna wait until the orange light turns off... and the charging meter says Charge Complete before I do this... I can't afford a UP chip, or a new MOBO, or a new psp!

i don't think it'll matter if you have enough charge or not...i'm pretty sure anything involving up/down grading REQUIRES your ac connection to be in or it'll corrupt. (i could be wrong tho)

If you are that paranoid, wait until it's a perfectly clear day and then run it. It'll take at most 5min (it took me like 2 minutes i think) so there should be no problem.

I never had anyproblems with my 1.5 dump,

If you are going to be using alot of flashing programs though then you probabaly should do the up/downgrade.

Ok... I've ran into some trouble with the MPH downgrader...

I have placed all of the files into the correct locations "index.dat and h.bin into the root directory, overflow.tif into ms0:\PSP\PHOTO, 1.5 eboot in ms0:\PSP\GAME\UPDATE)...

what happens is, when I push X on the memory stick below the photo icon, the PSP just locks up, freezes, and shuts off. when I reboot, it's still at v2.0... Please help :(

Attention here, I just downgraded my brother's 2.6 using my 1.5 for the DOWNDATER folder. I previously used Sodn's themepsp to customize my menus and gameboot, and now his is the same! Well, another success story. My brother sends his thanks for the downgrader! :Punk:

Jack, does your .exe file include everything including the 1.5 dump files? I don't know anyone with a 1.5, so hopefully it include those files. I downloaded it and ready to give it a shot, just wanted to be sure before I take the plunge :)

The thing is I heard that there were a few remnants of v2.6 in the "dirty" v1.5 that the Downgrader supplies you with... for example, if you are going to be using a lot of flashing programs such as PSPSet or Devhook, it would be very wise to upgrade to v2.0 and then back down to v1.5 with the MPH Downgrader...

But I'm pissed off because I can't really get the mph downgrader to work, and that's why I need a little bit of help.

Yes my .exe does include the 1.5 file so you dont need it and this was made by deturb so their not mine.
