After i updated, i can no longer put files in the root of the memory stick, also is it safe to delete all those logs created by the beta downdater in the root?

2.5 can downgrade as well, you don't need to upgrade.

Yes it's safe, I would reccomend formatting your memory stick and settings after going to 1.50.

According to the comments on that site, and by looking at the dump, it will work fine and is the final version, go ahead and use it.

Is this correct?
The psphacks downgrader was 53 kb and the pspupdates one was 41 kb which one is the right one? I think the 53 is the beta one
And do i need the src files?

i want to buy another one now, but i dont want to end up with a 2.7 PSP.

okay, so I just joined so I could post.. hope you guys don't mind the stoopid question. I've been waiting for a while for this day, (thanks guys!) I have a 082 motherboard.. I see all these posts saying that this will brick my psp, but I've been interpreting it as 'we think it'll brink your psp' ... has this been tried? I've spent the past hour scanning this thread, but haven't been able to find a conclusive answer.

so. Will this actually brick my 082 PSP or is this speculation because of a 'blacklisted version number' ?

I'm probably going to wait a few days..... but really tempted to try it.

So. is this confirmed, or should I try and let you guys know?
