Got the UMD read error so just pulled the battery out but other than that everything went spot on using Deturbanator's files.

I have a factory v2.01 US psp that was upgraded to v2.6, it has written in the UMD drive IC6001, so I believe that is a TA-081 motherboard, correct me if I am wrong. SO I am assuming that I'm a-ok for the FINAL version of the downgrader, right?

I downloaded the Final Downgrader pack from PSP-hacks, and I am assuming it uses the same firmware dump as was used in the Beta Downgrader packs also hosted on Psp-Hacks, I am correct on that?

This is my most important question though... I only have a 32mb Memory Stick!! I understand that it is risky to use the beta downgrader with the 32mb stick, because I heard that it can fill up beyond capacity, resulting in an "instant brick", so how does this new final downgrader use the stick? Does it fill up the Memory Stick with all of these logs and stuff as the beta did? How much logging does the Final Downgrader make?

I have already set my psp to its default settings, and I have formatted the 32mb memory stick, but I am really nervous at this point and I don't wanna be one of the unlucky ones with a brick!!! Thanks...

you can use a 32 mb card for the final downgrader, and you psp is ready to downgrade..

I had a factory 1.5 with IC6001 and mine downgraded perfectly fine.

For the DOWNDATER_FINAL_AUTO pack, the instructions did not mention where to place the file, "EBOOT.PBP" (inside folder "DOWNDATER_FINAL_AUTO ").

May I know where to place it?

Ok good, but I have just ran into a little bit of a problem. I notice that the Eboot file used in the downdater_final_auto in this thread is 42kb, but the "final" one from psp-hacks (for 2.6, don't know why they made 2.5 and 2.6 separate) is 53kb. Which is safe to use, this one or that one?

yes the final one does have a smaller size... it is fine to use the 43 kb one...

if you use the 53 kb one, make sure you have the right version to match your fw
