yes the final one does have a smaller size... it is fine to use the 43 kb one...

if you use the 53 kb one, make sure you have the right version to match your fw

cuse they are using the non auto detect version. the 43 kb one auto detects what FW version you have.

the 53 kb one has 2 versions, one for 2.5 and one for 2.6...

you have to have the right eboot for it to work. which is why the auto detect is better.

I have the DOWNDATER_FINAL_AUTO package from here, and I also have the 1.5 firmware dump DOWNDATER folder that was included in the Beta Downgrader package from PSP-Hacks, and I can't really look back through nearly 250 pages of posts, and the directions are not for this Eboot loader, so where exactly do I put everything? Also, am I missing anything?

I have made the 1.5 Downdater folder with one of my 1.5 PSP's. Do I name the folder for the 2.5 DOWNGRADER/2.50/DOWNDATERTEST and leave as one folder or break individually into two(one with % and one w/o)?

Sorry, I'm so used to the 1.5 that I forgot 2.0+ doesn't need the kxploit eboot folder

I don't mean to be an annoyance, but I am developing a sort of compulsion to make sure everything is in the right place... but earlier you told someone to go ahead and put the FINAL AUTO eboot into a folder called DOWNDATERTEST, but you told me to put it in DOWNDATER... I need to know for sure... all for safety

doesnt matter what the folder is called...

you could put the eboot in

PSP/GAME/PLEASEHAVESEX/EBOOT.PBP

it will still work...

as long as the eboot is in a folder in the GAME folder...

I gave up on the first version of the downdater and downloaded the new auto final version. However when I try to extract the eboot file for either the 1.5 helper or the other, the password is giving me a "bad block" error and won't extract properly. I have already tried re-downloading the file 3 times but with no luck. Any suggestions?

I have just tested the archive with the win-ace archive tester and so far it has found 2 errors? Does anyone know what this means?

Yes, at least I think I did. Although I have tried multiple variations like w/caps lock; holding shift; replacing _ w/ space. The error # I get is 25116. It is a CRC error??

Ok... I have finished formatting my memory stick, but for some reason, the folders are still there... I went ahead and reinstalled the eLoader through the EXE, I used the American 2.01+ PSP setting only and now it's there. I also restored the PSP's default settings too.

I also created a DOWNDATER folder in k:\PSP\GAME folder. So that means that the eboot from the DOWNDATER_FINAL_AUTO is located here...

I would suggest using DOWNDATE FINAL as it does not make logfiels that take up space on your memorystick.
