go to the poll thread in the hacks section to see the success rate. i just did my factory 2.5 last night fine. wasnt even scared because the light was flashing just like the readme said so i knew it was working

Another question, does anyone know of the original firmware region has any effect on the outcome?

I'm on a 2.50, upgraded from a 2.01, and the friend with 1.50 has a JP PSP.

Is this bad?:o

Well i have one last n00b question before im gonna try and make or break my PSP today :) I am a newb in PSP's and software for it i only purchased mine last week. I read quite a bit on how to downgrade it so that should be fine. Only 1 question for me remains:

I read u need eLoader, i downloaded it and my question is do i install it now on my 2.01 or when i upgraded it to 2.5/6?

so which fw do you have im confused. just download the super bock auto loader 0.97 and let it install to your psp. then just run gta to get to the eloader.

Well my current fw is 2.01 it's just not clear to me if i should install it now or when i have upgraded to 2.5. Or perhaps it doesn't matter.

shouldnt matter. id still install 2.5 first though. so then you can format the mem stick and then install it. i downgraded with a formatted mem stick. just didnt want all the junk to f**k it up

Ok thanx for the help, i will do it like you wrote. I will ofcourse post the outcome later today as first need to get me a copy of GTA-LCS.

Must admit im quite thrilled about this and ill be a bit nervous when i try it prolly like most of the people here. I'm used to modding Xboxes but this is new for me so will be interesting. Prolly will make a little movie of it just for the fun of it :)

try and get a pre owned copy. you dont want a patched one lol. its especially important to format the memory stick if you have a 32mb one. the downdater and eloader already take up over 10mb space then it needs room for all the log files - just a tip.

Well im afraid ill have to buy a new one pre owned are quite hard to get, any idea how to see if it might work or not on the cover? like type or whatsoever?

Or when i load the game any idea?

umm i dunno how you could check. i would try looking on the back for a fw requirement or something. you could just upgrade your fw now, go to the shop buy it, test it and if its patched ask for a refund (depending on what shop you go to)

put the downgrader and psp folders to the root of your card. install eloader. run eloader. run the downdate test and let it work. you must have gta. its easy!
