We have no clue, there are not that many systems left to emulate that are "main stream".

well sega cd,32x are addons to the original sega system so those additions will most likely be updated to the existing emulator in the future. Right now all i could care for is a sega genesis emu that gets updated as much as y's existing snes emu(which is awesome that hes going out of his way to create an update almost every other day) anything else will happen gradually providing the psp can handle them(cps 1 and 2 arcade machines etc.) But most importantly you have to be patient...and i wouldnt count on a sega saturn emu ever. I dont even think theres a pc emu out for it.

I wouldn't say the GBA has been given up on. It's only been two or three weeks since the first release. Patience, man.

Give the Game Gear (SMS) a try. It's pretty much running at 100%. There are some decent games on there. Back in the day, if you had GameGear+Mortal Kombat you were the coolest kid in school

I doubt you will ever see a N64 or Sega Saturn emulators on the PSP.
They both would run too poorly to be useful.

I think 3D (N64, PSX, etc) emulation isn't impossible and will commence when homebrew PSP devs figure out how to take advantage of the PSP's 3D rendering hardware. After all, the PSP's graphics engine is more than powerful enough to run N64-quality games, as readily evident from the current PSP games. It will probably take a lot of time, though...maybe even years, but if the scene has taught me anything in the last few months, it's where there's a will, there's a way. And there most definitely is a will.

Until then, 2D emulation is rushing forward. Speed for NES, SNES and Genesis emulation is rapidly increasing so that should fill the void until more emulators surface. My prediction is the next great strides in emulation will be in the form of GBA...but we'll see.

I would die for a sega cd emulator right now, the thoughts of running snatcher or luner on psp, make me speechless.

n64 works almost perfect on xbox with only a version 1.0 emulator.

im no developer but from what I've picked up here and there that it will be easier to make smoothly running 3d games that being the only hurdle of the PSP's 3d rendering, after that (and the people here have done more amazing feats) its a downhill run with some of them working even better than late generation 2d? this is just making connections of what other programmers have said

You most likely aren't ever going to see Sega Saturn, Mega CD or 32X emulators. All of them are very difficult to emulate, even on PC.

Well almsot every sega emulator available for pc has 32x and sega cs built in so it must not be as hard as your saying for the pc.Im not a coder so i dont know how hard it is or whatever but i know the sega emulators on pc like
Gens, Fusion, run perfect to my opinion and for saturn , Saturne, runs perfectly so i dont see what the problem is i mainly want a saturn emulator because it would start the whole 3D emulation scene on the psp and there are quiet a few games on saturn i thought were really kool like knights into dreams, cant think of the name but 1 game had a clown and a girl not sure of the name i think it was on n-gage,Sonic R,and mortal kombat trioligy and there more.

Perfect Dark and Goldeneye sounds would sound sweet on an XBOX.

If only it were that simple. The Saturn and 32X use dual processors which make them extremely difficult to emulate, they won't happen and if they do it will be crappy emulation. Even though the PSX produced a lot better 3D than the Saturn, it would be much simpler to emulate.

every body wants wants wants... but nobody knows how to code.

start studying people

i'm at least making an attempt at trying thing on my end.

PS - the GPU of the PSP needs to be figured out before even Snes can run at full speeds...

a psx emulator would be awesome imagine all the games yo be played
Crash Bandicoot 1,2,3
Mortal Kombat trilogy
Mortal Kombat 4
Mortal Kombat Sub-Zero Mythologies
Spyro 1,2,3
Dragonball Z Legends
Dragonball Z Ultimate Battle 22
Dragon Ball GT Final Bout
the list goes on and on
right now what homebrew should mainly function on that would be cool a 2 player way of playing emulators on psp from a wifi connection to link to someone elses psp and play multiplayer would be awesome when I have all these games on my psp for sega and supernintendo and nintendo but it seems i dont have as much fun with it as i use to i think the reason is the lack of the 2 player i use to have tons of fun playing mortal kombat 2 and ultimate 3 with friends.

With regards to the N64 emu, once the GPU is unlocked, I think that it will be possible to get it running at almost full speed, because both the PSP and the N64 run on MIPS processors. This means that if the emu could be programmed to take advantage of the similarities, we could see a full speed N64 emu by next christmas.

Similar chip architecture or not, one has to remember that the emulator's CPU has to be MANY times more powerful than the emulated CPU. And I'm not talking only four times more MHz as it's the case here. I'm talking 8-10 times for speed, at least double the bits, four times the bandwidth, etc...

I think we'll see an N64 emulator sometime, but I'd be surprised if it ran at full speed on more than one game.

I can't wait to be able to play Ocerina of time, goldeneye, pefect dark and conker's bad fur day on my PsP. I know it may not happen for a while, but since I can't code I just got to be patient, and I can't complain.
