Hey dudes,
I just make a program which avoids the update necessity from new psp games.
The psp cannot be destroyed by doing this!!!

Grab it here :

www.psp-arena.de/files/noupdate0.5.rar

Just insert a UMD, start the program and finish Wink

There are some bugs with one game, but this will be fixed!

Yeah, it's a little skinny on the details.

What games have you checked this with? What version PSP? Can you give us a brief explaination on HOW it bypasses the UMD Forced Update?

Well, it would take a 1.0 user with Coded Arms, MC3, etc in order to verify...

Did you guys watch the video from the link or read anything about it? The one mod said it doesn't do any harm but he was running 1.5.

Yeah, there would upgrading and downgrading a lot is bad for your psp. You dont want to hurt your psp do you?

if you watched the video, the program doesn't brick the psp, it does no harm to it, all it does is launch the boot.bin without running the update, i see no way that can be harmful

we just need someone with a 1.0 to test this out

If that's all it does, we had a program that did that weeks ago in the Dev forum. It was proven unsuccessful in bypassing the update. For the same reasons that running games off your memstick does not bypass required upgrades.

Yeah, that's all it's trying to do, and it doesn't work. It's looking for a real UMD of one of the update games, and it just tries to run the BOOT.BIN. Tried it on Coded Arms several times, just locked up every time...

It wouldn't even load up a non-forced-update game (well, Namco Museum at least). (Doesn't harm your PSP though, just locks it up...)

My vote's for killing it... :doh:
