I think only saves version 21+ work because of a diffirent method of saving. However you might probably be able to SDram save. Worse comes to worse back up all your files to your hard drive, install the new version on the psp, and then put back the rom and save files onto it. Alternatvely get version 20, save. Get version 21, save. Get version 24, save. Then get 27.

i had a similar problem with Final Fantasy 6... but i managed to get it up and running on the newer versions after a bit of playing about.
first, backup everything in your current snes9x directory relating to your game, so if all goes tits-up, you can still go back to where you were originally. next, load your game progress on the PSP and make sure you save both inside the game (so save within Zelda) and then also save the game using the emulators "state save". now, you must install SNES9x 1.43 to your PC. (all of 'y's new emu's are compatible with this version of snes9x) now, take all of the files created (all of the files created with the same name as your rom - i think they are saved in the SAVE dir...) from the PSP and copy them in to the ROMS directory on your PC, so they are in the same directory as the rom. Now load up the rom and you should be able to load either the state save, or the in-game Zelda save. Load up your game. Now - do yet another state save and in game saves using the computer, and then do the entire process again backwards, copying these new files back to your PSP, only this time in to the newer version directory (you will possibly have to move the files to a 'SAVE' directory for them to work). pretty bad explanation, but have a play around, im sure its possible, and you dont have to lose your progress. good luck. |

If the game works pretty well on the older version, just put the newer version of the emulator using a different name, that way you can have the old snes and the new one both on the psp. Use the new one for better compatibility and morw working games, use the older for your savegames and such.

I know that this seemed to prove true for the NES emulator for PSP. I had a Dragon Warrior IV save game that was really far in from the NES Emu I had on PC. I made sure the save game matched the name of the rom, and it worked! I was thrilled. If I can run my Dragon Warrior V and VI saved games that I had on the PC, I'll be even more thrilled. Although, now that I think about it I can't remember if I used ZSnes or SNES9X.
