Think he meant can he use pVNC to connect to his PC with the server from anywhere, the answer is yes. I connect to my neighbors wireless (yes I have permission and the WEP key) and I connect to my PC. I get 90-100% signal throughout my house so why bother buying my own wireless system

Yes, but this option must be implented in PVNC. It is currently not supported, but i think it should be.
The idea is that you regularly connect to any computer's wi-fi, and then through the Internet, connect to yours. Sure hopes it's on the way.
I'll have something to do during Physics class!!

Umm, what?

You can do it right now. All you need is the PC's internet IP address. Plug that into PVNC, and you are good to go. (You can get your PC's INTERNET Ip address by going to www.whatismyip.com )

This should work fine at a friend's house and such, but it probably will not work at Starbucks. Most public places have firewalls installed on their networks so VNC will be blocked.

Yes, it'll work anywhere as long as the port isn't blocked and there are no additional firewalls installed on the access point. I use regular VNC from other access points all the time. Just this weekend, I was in Maine, and I VNC'd my desktop from home. I have actually yet to run into a public access point where regular VNC didn't work. So, PVNC should work from just about any access point.

I just want to be clear on this, so would I leave the same ip address (192.168.1.XXX) in the psp infrastructure network settings? or would I need to change it?

PVNC works for me when I just connect through my router and stuff. But when I try the way of just inputting my ip address, it says "ConnectToTcpAddr: cannot connect Error: -1 / 111". Is there anything that I have to change anywhere else?

that is an internal network IP... to connect thru another network you will have to make sure your IP is compatable with that network, and then use your home external IP as the connection for VNC (and maybe, depending on how many machines at home, forward the ports on your router to the VNC machine before you leave)
