Default Some weird stuff..

So, I brought up my idea of flashing a gameboot to a 2.6 via the downdater to Slasher.

Slasher then coded a little test program to use the flash0 to move a gameboot.pmf from the root into ms0:/test/

I booted up my 2.6 PSP with the PoP gameboot in my root.

Next thing I know, my PSP shuts off and it turns on with a "disc could not be read" error.

I removed my GTA UMD and went to USB mode

There I saw it, gameboot.pmf in the ms0:/test/ folder!

So, we were excited that it worked.

Then, Slasher edited the eboot to move the gameboot from the root to flash0:/vsh/resource/

I booted up GTA yet again, got the disc could not be read error.

Boot up GTA to test the gameboot..the PSP hangs for 10 seconds, I smell a brick!

Luckily, it didn't brick, but it did go the original gameboot.

We'll be investigating and experimenting more tomorrow, stay tuned.

You do know that instead of wasting tons of money on buying each of your seperate PSPs (ie: getting the community to buy you one) you could just return it to a store that sells PSPs and they'll give you a new one, regardless of how long it was since you last bought it. Think of all the cash you wasted that you could have not spent.

Very cool I hope everyone on 2.5/6 who chose not to downgrade can fully enjoy the firmware altering abilities we have on 1.5

This is getting weirder, it flashed the gameboot, but it still shows the original gameboot.

But the gameboot moved from the root, where'd it go besides flash0:/vsh/resource/gameboot.pmf?

Want to take a looksee at the source?
