Updated ThemePSP Thread

I think I bricked my PsP installing one of these themes. I was able to use the themes but I installed this specific one and then the psp went to the sce screen and played the boot up song that came with the theme and then I get the blue screen with all the languages and say setting info is corrupted. press O button to repair and restore default settings. I push O and it keeps bringing me back to the same screen. If I boot up the PsP with a game it will let me play the game with no issue, But when I hit the home key and try to go back to the PsP menu I get that blue settings screen again. Any help on this?

If you have the custom firmware mod installed then you can "unbrick" with that, but if not try to put in a umd that makes you update and see if you can update that way to 2.0 or something. I dont know what else to do when your registry is corrupt.

But in order to update to a higher firmware you have to be in the psp menu screen correct? And I didnt install the custom firmware mod installed :Argh: .

Here it is I went with this bg the others were a little to light to have the font show up like I wanted it to. The bootsound is initiating startup sequence, the gameboot is stormy sea, im so tired of seeing the blood/slash gameboot. Think the stormy sea goes with this nicely. Edited menu names, and lastly added some nice elevator music to the themepsp install wait, to ease your waiting time. =^). Uses konfuciuz font found at dafont didn't feel like making my own font this time, seeing as how konfuciuz fit the needs of the theme.

SeikenZ if you would like it a differnet way just pm me, I will make it however you want. I got wrapped up with this one, and im picky with what I release to everyone. If you dont mind fonts being hard to read/ect then pm me with your preferences and ill get it to you.

That VP theme is incredible.

I'm thinking about remixing it myself. Do you mind if I use the gameboot? Did that gameboot come from the UMD?

Thxs, you've pumped out some nice one's yourself volsfan. Thats just a gameboot I grabbed off a site a while back. I don't mind what you do with it, all freely aquired files, besides I like my psp a certain way so edit your heart out.

Double Post Merge

Just wanted to add a couple of new things. The new ThemePSP is incredible! Haha, SodR sent me a message awhile back telling me all about, and it was TERRIBLE having to keep it secret for awhile, as per his requests.

PSP Themes are pretty easy to make, at least in the way of backgrounds. Why? Because when game review companies get screenshots, they're 480x272!

make sure you get the .wav from taiwan, or else your gonna get the same error.

The tutorial that came with the creator pack gave a link to a tutorial on how to make bootsounds by some guy named will1234, but all thats posted is something about that triple triad game. I experimented with frequency numbers and outsets numbers, yet I still can't get it to work. BTW the pack came with 2 programs, and one required an audio file while the other required a .vog file. So I figured, use the audio one first than the .vog one..... help!

Creating bootsounds is easy.

Just find your bootsound file (MAKE SURE IT IS NOT OVER 3 SECONDS OR DOOM WILL BECOMETH YOU) and open up the MFAudio.exe in the creator pack.

Open the bootsound you want, then on the bottom, change the file format to .VAG. Make a Save As name for the .VAG version of your bootsound, and then hit Process!

Once you've done that, open PSPMenuEdit.exe, and select opening_plugin.rco from the right dialog box in the folder that the sound programs are in. Hit Insert New Audio, and select your .VAG bootsound. It will insert the new audio. Then, copy the opening_plugin.rco from the Bootsound folder and put it in your theme folder.

Done. :)

i had that same problem, but with a lot of searching, i figured it out.

first off, download audacity. open up your sound files in it, and tweak it so it is three seconds long. save it as a wav file. open that file with mfaudio in the bootsound tutorial, and convert it into a vag, named coldboot. then open pspmenuedit, click on the ... under the edit colboot startup sound. open opening_plugin.rco in the bootsound file. then click insert new audio, open coldboot.vag, and your done. just copy the new opening_plugin.rco file into your theme folder.

Thanks! I thought no one will use it due to the lack of gameboots...(well, no gameboots seems to fit it...i think slapping a PoP gameboot will be really wierd IMO)

Hey its me Deeseptikon... felt like I had to go back to my original username... anyways, here is my first go at a theme. Haven't looked into taking screenshots yet. But here is my TRANSFORMERS theme. This theme comes with a wallpaper, font, and 2 bootsounds. Just edit either bootsound file name down to opening_plugin.rco and remove the other.

I have to use a different font anyways...that might do it. If not ill try another topmenu_plugin.rco file.
