Updated ThemePSP Thread

Urza - could you plz post a few pointers on what you think a "great" theme is.
Do you consider a custom bootsound to be important? Is it the creativity of the game menu names? Do you consider bg's that are "homemade" to be better than one's that were "shopped" for? Not being sarcastic, or complaining; but you do run this thread, and seeing you will be rating the themes it would be nice to know what you actually think a "Great" theme is. Thanks.:)

Id say a great theme is one that is custom from the ground up. Obviously for the forums, there can't be a custom gameboot. But there are others out that were ripped that fit in nicely with themes. Backgrounds are nice if they have been touched up and are clear. Bootsounds are nice, but mostly its a great background which allows the font to be easily seen.

I'm going to have to get back to you on that psp phd. I'm going out of town till Friday, but I'll get to work on it that weekend. I'm also planning on making a guide for good theme making.

hey everyone. this is hard but theme making for me is halted, schools starts soon, i have 2 ap math classes and an ap science class. oh yeah and football everyday. only free on saturdays and sundays. later ~NAte

so, i liked themepsp and was mad bout there are being so few themes around i started to make my own theme :Jump: ...
and this is my first theme; hope it will be added to the first post... btw, i didnt have the chance to test the theme myself (coz i forgot me psp at home today :Cry: :o ), so i can only give the screen shot of the wallpaper...

I downdated from 2.5 to 1.5 and then installed Dark_Alex's custom firmware and it worked fine and also ThemePSP works fine and ive flashed 20+ times. As long as you have a custom firmware theres really not too much to worry about.

If it was a 2.5/2.6 to 1.50 downgrade there is a chance. I took my 1.50 and upgraded to 2.0 then used the MPH downgrader to 1.5 and installed ThemePSP and works just fine :Punk:

sorry guys; the theme i uploaded seems to have problems with the music palying when installing the theme... i guess thats cos i change the bitrate from 128kbps... also, wallpaper wasnt so great...

so, i made a version 2; better wallpaper, and fixed the music issue... will be uploading it soon... plz give me some feedback, so i can kno if its good or not... :)

the frequency is wrong. your sound file needs to be at 44100Hz to sound right. if its lower, the file will play faster.

use the same program that converts it to vga, but convert it to 44100Hz wav first. then open that file and convert it to vga and it should work.

Here it is my Simpsons theme. The menus are supposed to be like a TV. I'm surprised the wasn't done before. Anyway I think it's good for a first.

Also, the xmb trademark symbols are removed. I removed them in x-flash, then dumped the firmware to get topmenu_plugin.rco.

thanks for the feedback. i got the menu names, 3 backgrounds, and the font done. i should have it completed by friday or so.

also, does any one have a good free photo editor? i tried a few and they are good at what they do, but they suck overall. i am tired of having to use one to crop, one to darken and lighten, and one to change parts of the picture.
