I'm half done my Silent Hill theme. It has the font, menu edit, background completed. I have one question though.

I have a Silent Hill 3 soundtrack that came with my game. I put it in my computer and ripped the song I wanted. Now when using the program here Boot Sound , it keeps saying I need a .wav file. I downloaded some converters and converted the audio to a .wav file but it keeps saying "Invalid WAV format". Any ideas? Or does anyone have a name of a program that guarenteed converts it to the right one?

Well, got bored, couldnt sleep and i was sorta disapointed with what id given back to the community, so i thought to myself, im sure making a theme isnt hard, ill give it a go. So after about 30 minutes of tinkering and tonkering, i came up with what i like to call: FiNAL FATE 1.0 :)

You need to convert the wav into a ***uncompressed*** state.
a freeware program by the name of "audacity" can do it!

just open the sound file and "export to wav" then try to convert it to a .vag

Hehe, that was the exact same program i was using when i was audio editing, great program, i highly reccomend.

I use wavepad

its shareware,I think,but I'm past the trail period and am still using it to convert and save wav files,lol

Just use Audacity, its free and much better.

Ok I finished my Silent Hill 4 theme (my first one). Added the gameboot so as of now this is the final version of it. If Origins would have been released I could have used a boot from that but I think the one I added works ok.

Have you updated the list? its just i dont see my theme their. If not or my theme doesnt make the grade then well ok, i just thought it was a good first theme tis all.

OMFG!!!!!!! i just downloaded the mario theme and used it now it keeps sending the courrupt error mesage every 1 seconds........ i cant boot a game off the UMD and cant access the memory card at all it just keeps booting the error blue screen. only time it works is if its turned off. can anyone help me in fixing this?

I'm using DevHook. How do I change the theme on the firmware I'm emulating? I'm emulating 2.6 because I can't find the reboot.bin file for 2.71.

Bootsound or gameboot? You kind of mentioned them both.

I don't *think* you can make your own gameboot yet, you need to extract the .PMF from an ISO copy. There are no converters to convert video files to .PMF

As for a bootsound get your music, make it about 3 seconds long (and under 99kb) then convert it to .wav using Audacity or a similar program.

When you load up an UMD from the XMB it shows a little load up screen, and people make their own. That's what I meant, hope this clears it up.

The themepsp I download came with a program called MFAudio, when i broswer for a song/sound whatever and i press play, all i can hear is static. >_<

That load up screen is called the gameboot. MFAudio is used to creat a Bootsound (when you turn on the PSP). The only way to get those movies are to rip them from a UMD (so an ISO) or download them.

Heres a link to some various gameboots from different places. If you are following the instructions in ThemePSP you will read this:


1. Grab a .PMF file from a UMD Dump of your choise (I don't recommend files over 1mb)
2. Rename it to gameboot.pmf
3. Put it in the folder you created on the psp.
4. You can now flash it with ThemePSP

So if you are making a custom theme, rename the boot you download from this link "gameboot" and move it to that folder. It is now ready to go.

If that was unclear sorry I'll try to explain it better if you need it.

As far as custom gameboots are concerned, they can only be created with illegally obtained UMD Tools that were leaked online a little while back. As such, they are not allowed to be posted here.

Are ones ripped from games illegal to? Like could I request a gameboot from Me and My Katamari here or is that illegal also?

I tried to take it from an ISO but it was all ****** up and kept saying it wasn't an ISO :Argh:

And my Silent Hill 4 Theme up there has the PoP slash/ blood gameboot in it so it's fine.

Astro, you can't convert files into .PMF they have to be already like that. So you have to rip it from an ISO or download a .PMF

Moosecakes, the program used to make gameboots is illegal so can't help you.

Sure. Just link me to the font (make sure it's .ttf, you can get them from places like Dafont.com if you don't have one) and the background and tell me what you want the menus to say.
