the modchip it seems was all hype and once people saw how hard it was to install, coupled with the fact that devhook and the downgrader came out, no one really cared about it anymore. all i rememebr was a few threads saying how they bricked their psps and one saying they had successfully put it in |

Go to the Maxconsole Psp forum and find the Unofficial Undiluted Platinum forum. I got the guy from Maxconsole in the UK to Mod my one, he did it in one day and he says it takes him just over an hour to do. Not only did he Mod my White Psp, he also did the Dpad fix and added a seperate USB access for the Modchip as opposed to using the one underneath the battery compartment. I should have my Psp back by this Friday so if anyone has any questions, I will be glad to answer them. |

The problem with this is that the FPC is not very sturdy and susceptible to wear and tear. To solve this problem, one of the guys on Maxconsole came up with a USB Mod to attach the FPC to a permenant mini USB port. He then cut a small area out of the Psp casing near the battery so you could access the USB to flash the chip. A picture of his first successful attempt is here http://forums.maxconsole.net/showthread.php?t=26407 Another method is to use the already present Onboard USB of the Psp with a Dual Dip switch in the battery compartment allowing you to select whether the USB accesses the Chip or the Psp's Memstick when connected. |

I would like to put U.P. in my 1.5 just so i can use 1.5 and the latest firmware(since ps1 games are comming out) and unbrick if something goes wrong.
The USB mode from maxconsole looks really cool! I wish i could find a maxconsole guy in Sweden
