Default Possible Hope for TA-082, Hidden number, Cmberry20 still downgradable?56k = Maybe

The following is a quote from the "I Bricked my PSP thread..." that's stickied at the top because of a TA-082 board.

Quote:

and the downgrader works fine.
Sorry CMBerry20, that I reposted your picture.

As you can see, Cmberry20 said that he was able to downgrade his board, and his board has the number 'IC6001' hidden. I noticed that I have a hidden number as well and... it's IC6001 as well.

However, I have the IC1003 as well to designate the TA-082 motherboard update.

I suppose what i'm doing with this thread, is that i'm calling out Cmberry20 (also in a PM) and other people with these boards to please give us more information. Thanks!

I do have the numbers on the right side. I'm kinda hoping theres some kinda fluke.

Currently looking over my $20 insurance I bought for my PSP. Thinking about bricking my PSP in the name of science/stupidity[even though it's been said you can't countless times]...

If it came with 1.52 and it's 2 days after launch no chance it's ta-082

I just visited ps2dev.org forums and i've come up with some very interesting pictures I think all of the higher ups should look at in theory here. I'm not really claiming anything here but i'm intrigued at this:

This is a picture by 0okm from Ps2dev.org forums. The picture above is a frontal picture of a PSP with the TA-082 PCB. Notice in the red circle, the infamous IC1003 can be found (note: the backplate of the PSP was taken off so a better picture could be taken, but this is the UMD drive slot you're looking at so it's NO different than the one you see with the white PSP picture showing you how to check for a TA-082).

Now here is the most interesting part,

Another picture by 0okm, Now look closely (this is the same PCB behind the UMD drive so the circled IC1003 is the same one you've been looking at to determine whether or no you have a TA-082 PCB.

Now, remember when I said, and Cmberry20 said we saw the hidden number, IC6001? Where has that number gone?

I might be onto something here.

^ Uhh, The position of the IC6001, if it was present in that PSP, wouldn't be visible in that picture anyways because the position of the IC6001 is way towards the right side ..it's right side of the USB port which isn't covered in the picture...so I guess u need to get a better photo.

I have a TA-082 myself and I'm desperately waiting for something to work here...until then my PSP is just laying around unsused.

PSP HW Ver. SpotLight for FW2.5/2.6 v1.01
NOTE
"IC1003" just is LABEL for "InfraRed communication module"
NOT mean that is NEW Ver HardWare(TA-082)
ALL Ver. HardWare have this LABEL

ONLY when open UMD door can see "IC1003" in the right upper corner
that mean this is NEW Ver HardWare(TA-082)!!

There is the version checker out now anyway. I would just use that. It states whether you have old or new firmware.
As for the MP of the camera, that doesn't need to be that high. Just use macro and zoom in. Should be clear.

Same numbers as in IC1003? or IC6001?

And if you mean IC1003, is it the same position as the picture? (top right of the UMD slot).

You're telling me, that 0okm, a developer, who clearly stated in multiple threads pretty much against your word, and the fact that all of the pcb versions say TA-082 all over them aren't TA-082 pcb's?

Haha oh wow.

Maybe you guys don't get it; Theres no freakin' hidden serial. What is this serial? What does it indicate.

Thats what I want to know. I KNOW TOP RIGHT IC1003 MEANS TA-082, but i'm looking for further explanation of this hidden serial that I and other people have, jeez.

What further explaination do you need Type-Zero? You have IC1003 visible from the UMB right? That means your PSP is a TA-082, and you cannot flash it to 1.5 END OF STORY, period.

The psp was brand new from japan around christmas time i think, but theres date stamps on the box dating back to way before firmware 2.5 psp came out. it should be old psp i'm guessing? any ideas

ok im confuesed here.

mine doesnt have anything on the right, but has something like IC6001 on the left thats hidden... is this OK TO DOWNGRADE?? (my psp came with version 1.51 btw..)

btw this all thing isnt good. if sony will know about this, they can even make TA-082 thats new without the IC1003 thingy that will put end to downgrading from 2.6 (cuz people will start to bricking their PSPs)..

Please read my post until it makes sense to you, and I ask you, when at all did I indicate that I wanted to reflash to older firmware? I don't believe I didn't even hint at that other than in the title which is a mere 'challenge' per se to Cmberry20's quote in the original post I made. I'm sure it's just a misunderstanding here.

(Protip: Read bold.)

Also, I really dislike the fact that you're trying to make it seem that I didn't read all the countless threads about TA-082 boards. Yes I know it sucks that both you, I, and various others cannot have homebrew without the GTA exploit however by adding no further explanation or new information that I, or possibly others do not know, you're simply making this thread harder to come to a nice, clear cut conclusion.
