Default eTV progress?

I am just wondering if anyone has heard of any progress on Ditlew's eTV that was announced awhile back? This is probably my most anticipated homebrew (save for devhook with 2.71 emulation :-)

I was wondering this too, Last time I heard about it, It was near full release?
I'm looking forward to this, It saves me using Pimpstreamer and VLC all the time.

basically etv will broadcast the tv signal from your computer's tv tuner over wifi to view on the PSP.

I was wondering this too when I read the Know the Developers Part 3. I thought they were going to talk about it.

Yeah, I was hoping they would too. Hope that doesn't mean it's been scrapped :-(

I wish I had more programming knowledge. What I would really like to see is a server plug-in for a free DVR program like GB-PVR with a front end on the PSP. Would be like having a portable DVR!

Yeah, it has no sound and you have to have Dscaler running and maximized on the server computer. eTV supposedly will have it's own server software.

are we talking about the one that uses DScaler to stream your tuner card? I think that program is so sick, but the image is sooooo choppy and no sound I REALY wish somone would reopen development on this program.

You mean a card with a built in tuner? TV out doesn't really apply to eTV, plus I think all graphic cards these days have tv out.

So has anyone heard anything about this? I just remembered that I have a TV tuner card in one of my older computers, and I want to be able to use eTV.

Yeah, I know it can technically be done using pimpstreamer (that is how I do it now), it's just kind of annoying to set up. I would like to take my PSP out to the backyard and just be able to flip through my live tv channels (lol, and have sound while I do it, or I could just use psptv).

I received this PM from Ditlew this morning :-(

Hi there

Sorry for not getting back to you before now. I have wrote in a few forums and comments but haven’t made a official posting, but eTV is halted for now. The reason is that the PMP VLC client now out, delivers a much better picture that eTV would ever be able to, and is in general a much more potent product. Currently the VLC client can’t change channels but that is coming in the next release I’m told.

You can read about and download the VLC here:
