Dark_Alex has released a homebrew enabler for the 2.71

I bet some of you are going." **yawn** so what? It still no 1.50"

WRONG!!!!

With the homebrew enabler, we can now launch a special port of DevHook(originally made by Booster) developed by Dark_Alex. With this special version, Devhook can be loaded on a 2.71.

With DevHook and a X-Flash dump of 1.50, 1.50 CAN BE EMULATED ON A TA-082!

How do I know this? Because I'm staring right at my TA-082 looking at version number 1.50

All homebrew programs will run just as if they were running on a normal 1.50 PSP.

Eloader has been update to v0.99. It is now compatiable with firmwares up to 2.71. It also provides a little more kernel support for 2.50/2.60.

Eloader v0.98 has officially been released. This new version of eloader can be used without GTA LCS. It uses an exploit in the Photo Viewer pioneered by NOPX86 to load. It works on the TA-082 but only on firmware lower than 2.60

0okm has just released a UMD emulator and a UMD reader for the GTA Eloader.

No loading of backed up games is **NOT** possible yet. Remember it is **ILLEGAL** to play downloaded ISOs. All these are just POCs (Proof of Concept) that show off possibilites. This is probably as much as I can talk about without breaking the rules. So research more yourself.

Under all circumstances if you can see "IC1003" from the UMD door then it is a TA-082.

:evil: Only "IC1003" MATTERS, NOTHING ELSE ! :evil:

There have been a couple of motherboard revisions for the PSP aside from the TA-082 (TA-079,80,81). What makes the TA-082 so special is that the ID code for the Infared Port (IC1003) has been moved so that it becomes visible from the UMD door. In other motherboard versions the code "IC1003" is also present but hidden from view. Here are some screenshots taken from 0okm's website

There are a couple of other differences as well such as the Flash chip being on the other side of the motherboard, but the only way to check for a TA-082 without voiding your warranty is through the UMD door.

But if you're still in denial,you can go ahead and check your motherboard by completely dissassembling your PSP.

Ok Dark_Alex, Mathieulh and harleyg have released their own TA-082 downgrader.
A good amount of people have reported that it does work.

All Custom Firmwares Will Work with a TA-082 Once the ID Storage is Changed.
All custom firmwares whether they are for 1.50 or Dark_Alex's newer versions such as 3.03 OE will work on a TA-082

At The Moment, The probablity of buying a TA-082 seems to be all over the place.
Many people have reported different packs, different purchase dates, and different retailer/locations on when/where they bought their TA-082s. One trend that I have seen is that all have at least 2.50 factory firmwares (1.51 for ones from Asia) and that there is a high probability of getting one in the core pack at least in the US. Both my friend and I bought core packs and got TA-082s

Kernel Access does work with a TA-082.
Kernel Access is dependant on firmware not hardware so TA-082s are ok there. Kernel Access mean full read and write privilages to the NAND chip where firmware is kept. It also allows full use of special commands and access to secure areas of the RAM. Right now though its a little buggy right now. Also Kernel access is dependant on the GTA eloader to work. I believe devs would rather have an exploit from the XMB (Cross Media Bar [PSP main menu]).

All TIFF based hacks/games will work on a TA-082
Just like kernel mode, the new TIFF hack is dependant on firmware. It will work on a TA-082 if its lower than 2.81

I know that all TA-082 are kind of hopeless but you shouldn't be,sure don't upgrade to 2.71.

The "IC1003" is present on all motherboards. Its just that on the TA-082 its visible from the outside. I'll make it clearer in the post.
