It worked on my psp :)
Good for you Dark_Merlin
Welcome to the world of 1.5 v2!!!
This is incredible, now imagin what future releases of something like this would be like, this is just a proof of concept one, a complete firmware mod would be insane!
I'm going to try to make a PRX file that allows you to run ISOs straight from the menu like they did with the epsilon video, just put the ISOs into the GAME folder and run them. I'm gonna look into that. Then you can set it to autoload on the custom firmware
You'd have to load most of the higher firmware to make it work. I managed to get parts of 2.50 to load into 1.50 by hex editing a decrypted 2.50 dump and loading up some key files as my 'loadmodule' options, but it didn't work 100% (e.g. savedata function worked, photo function worked, game function worked but was from 1.50, but the main menu was from 1.50 and the video function didn't work).Zitat:

Try looking at the Fastloader source and making it point to a predefined ISO file first, then try improving it :pZitat:

Hmmm, im gonna try something like that too, instead, load a .prx. But then how would i load isos....we need a professional here...FreePlay, get you ass over here. :pZitat:

I see, continue on your work, I would like to get some more options in photo, audio, and video. I see you got photo and audio working, if I am correct, but not video? Meaning I can view a .bmp on my 1.5 PSP, but cannot play video files? Well, keep it up, its thanks to many people, like you, that the PSP gets better and better!Zitat:

I simply love this double post merge thing, i can post freely without getting in trouble!
Well... By "working" I mean I loaded the modules and entered the menu without it crashing, but it still was just the 1.50 menu :/ It seems that the photo, video, audio, etc. plugins are loaded upon first entering the menu. I noticed this in Devhook - if you remove the MS and try to enter a menu, you can't, and it won't even attempt to do it again even if you put the MS back in. But if you enter a menu and THEN remove the MS, you can still use the menu with the MS out.
Well, I dont mind menu, as long as i can view more extensions. You mean your loading .prx files from the memory stick? Or you flashed .prx files, because if this happens by loading stuff from the memory stick, how about flashing them. Would taking out the memory stick do anything?
Hey FreePlay, if you get an upper firmware photo capacity (view .bmp's and .png's) in 1.5, would you mind posting it here?
That'd come in handy.
I did this with Lemmings and RunUMD :pZitat:

Well what i was going to do was make an 'ISOloader.PRX' which would be the one global ISO loader. And when you go to the games menu it will automatically check for not only .PBP files but .ISO files, then run them too as you would run a .PBP
Uh... You realize it's not that simple, right? You have to patch the low-level file I/O functions to make it read ms0:/whatever/whatever.iso as the UMD drive...
Do you know how to do it? Its a great idea, but needs coding. And why would it search for .pbp? That would just slow the PSP down. It only needs to search for .iso, .dax, and .cso. But again, the more extensions, the more slowdown. So it can search for a certain word in the file, like ISO or CRACK, you get me?Zitat:

I know, i'm going to have to do some research on this, or you can help me, if you know how to do itZitat:
Zitat von FreePlay
Most of that is easily accessible in that umdemu 'port' that DarK_AleX did. Probobly wouldn't be toooooo tough?Zitat:
Zitat von FreePlay
I don't, unfortunately. I've got four days off of work next week (:/) so I'll probably try to figure out how to make my own add-ons and such then, but for now I'm busy with other stuff :p
Cant wait for any "addons" you may think off adding. Two things im waiting for, freeplays addons, and slashers PSPosx. :)Zitat:
Zitat von FreePlay
ok, then i'm going to have to do some research
If you don't know what you're doing - Don't do it!!! (My philosophy right there brother!!! (or sister!!!) Seriously though - Leave the ISO loader to DarK_AleX - He's got the experience and would be able to release it alot quicker.
Wait, Dark is making one too? I mean i know what i'm doing, i am a coder but if he is doing i have not doubts that he will do it better
freeplay is there anyway using the usbhost files to get the psps xmb to read from the PC, so as you can stream video and homebrew etc from the PC kinda like IR shell?
To bad hes barely on. :( I hope he can do iso loading through XMB, that would be awesome. And adding more filetype support, like .png, .bmp, .tga, etc.

No one knows just yet. Just continue on what your doing, he hasnt posted, so we dont know what he is up to.Zitat:
Zitat von TheKnightInHell
It's not definate - but I reckon he will add his Ziso loader as a .prx module for sure
EDIT: w00t!!! my 100th post (spits on floor) (cleans up floor)
will there be a way to load the $CE screen, and skip the umd load? i flashed my load screen with another program so i have a custom sound, no $CE logo or wavy lines.... and i like that! the program is kick ass regardless... no umd loading... autoboot a program... oooo man.... :Punk:
This worked for me. ;]
I wonder what would be included in the future releases.
Probably. I don't know. I've managed to get USBHostFS to connect, at least. That part was easy. It looks like it creates devices named usbhostfs0: and host0:, so maybe if I write a module that remaps those to fatms0: it'd work. I don't know. I'll check.Zitat:

That didn't work for me, but I use something like this:Zitat:

(I took out the crappy icons that it has....)
I restored 1.00 back, then I updated to 1.50, then I used the new unflasher thing (http://pspupdates.qj.net/Custom-Firm.../49/aid/58892), so I don't have to do that everytime I want to go back to my fresh 1.50...The End :Punk:
Well I just tested this. After seeing success stories, I told myself: "why not... who knows, maybe will it revive my PSP". What I mean by revive is basically because I got a bit bored of it (or mostly I don't really have anything to do with it at the moment) and I thought that this would get me back at it.
It worked and really well should I add which inspired me too as now this offers great possibilities over the "boot up sequences". What I mean is that, right now, I "replaced" (or auto-boot) Artillery shell. I never really liked XMB, so. This being said, with some cooperation in coding a new shell can totally be done. If possible a shell able to do the same as XMB over the configuration, and that, without the risk of upgrading by accident (which is very... quite near to impossible).
Overall, good job Dark Alex, this is really a good piece of software.
Yeah, I think that's what it said. It got its extention changed to .prx....Zitat:

yeh ive made a replica psp structure on my psp and used the usbhost.exe program but it picks up the psp but the psp cant find anything. It'd be sweet if you can write a module for it.Zitat:
Zitat von FreePlay
I've seen people request an edit so it will only autoboot homebrew when a key is being held. So if edited it abit, now it will only autoboot when left trigger is being held. I've also included Slasher's recovery.elf with the unflash function.

hexecal, how can you discourage others from trying to code for everyone's benefit. We can't leave D_A to do all the work on his own. Heck he has already done so much for us.
This is pretty cool. But i'll wait for future updates. none of this seems useful to me just yet.
Seems cool, but as with everything, im afraid to test. I had a HDD filled ith thousands of trojans, worms, etc. for testing a program by a person with "1" post. Now Im afraid of bricking my PSP. If someone could look through the code, and see if its safe and looks like it does what it says, ill try it.Zitat:
Zitat von MortuuS
Yeah I haven't done anything yet for the PSP scene but this edit wasn't that hard. I just used Dark_Alex's installer so the install is safe. And the edit of vshmain.prx was only adding the check for the left trigger. So far i haven't had any problems with it.Zitat:
Zitat von Master Inuyasha
Okay, i guess it couldnt hurt to try it....? Man, hope i am not suckered into bricking my PSP....

Hey, can you edit your thing to boot the XMB with the L trigger is pressed? Makes more sense, no?Zitat:
Zitat von MortuuS
it doesnt work for me
i try to run the program and it says, vshmain.prx filesize isnt the same, or something
You gotta have a fresh 1.5.
Mortuus you read my post above?
Ok, I'm gonna try the install once more on my PSP to see if i get the error message too.Zitat:
Zitat von mannymix03
EDIT: It works here, as told in the readme it has to be a clean 1.5 install.
Its because he already has the firmware hack installed, he needs to de-install it first. MortuuS, can you please make it so it loads the XMB when L is pressed?Zitat:
