Devhook isnt working now
Alright! Cant wait. Unless, you can tell me how you edit .elfs? So i can look into it?
At the rate we're going, there should be a "Custom Firmware" section under/within the 'PSP Firmware Discussion' s.
Anyone agree? I'm tired of all these mods scattered around. :ROFL:
So can anyone confirm that what MortuuS posted works? <_<
i cant, i cleaned my 1.5, and it still didnt flash right
Remeber guys this is a POC and everything you try might not work :p
But it's not a bricker or anything? I was gonna give it a go.
It wont, I think he *may* be lying to use. Why you may ask? Because the MD5 values do not match. So he couldnt have flashed it into his flash using Dark_AleX flasher. Now, he *may* have actually edited it, but flashing it, thats a no go.Zitat:

Wow...this is incredible! I really hope they get a way to play ATRAC3+ files via the 1.5 XMB, booting devhook is good and all, but this would be more convenient. Great job Alex, keep up the great work! Thanks to you I am running 1.5, and soon to have a custom firmware!
I've heard mixed reports, but has anyone ran devhook whilest running this firmware?
I have and it works. Make sure its kxploited, if not, it wont work!
Devhook and IrShell run fine.Zitat:

I have IRshell on autoboot, its awesome :D
A few questions:
1. Can custom prx files be loaded through the config file on startup?
2. If so is their a guide to creating prx files?
3. Can existing prx files be loaded on startup, such as usb?
Have flashing programs found to be safe with this custom firmware?
hi guys im new to the forum. well i dowloaded the tool, installed it on my psp, ran the homebrew files, it said it have flashed sucefully but everything is the same ive seen no changes, the corrupt folder are there,the boot up of sce still happens, what may have gone wrong and how can i fix this thnks :)
Change the "false" to "true" --no quotes in the config file in ms0/PSP/System/ and it's in there.
i have already done thatZitat:
Zitat von MasterChief1234
1. Yes, custom .prxs can be loaded up, because screenshotbmp.prx is custom, isnt it?Zitat:
Zitat von TeamOverload
2. I do not know.
3. Yes, as I mentioned before, screenshotbmp.prx is loaded on start-up.
Are you thinking of creating some? I hope you learn how, im pretty sure you got some things up your sleeve.

You're doing something wrong, for corrupted icons, make sure it is set to true, etc. Your config file is probably set up wrong. It works, and if it doesnt for you, you did something wrong.Zitat:

this is what i have in my file
Code:###########################################################################################
############### Configuration file for the Custom Firmware - Proof of Concept #############
###########################################################################################
# Set it to true if you want to enable the execution of normal pbp's, no-kxploited
nokxploit = true;
# Set it to true if you want to hide the icons
# Note: if you have a lot of things in the game folder, it could cause a slowdown
hidecorrupt = true;
# Set it to true if you want to skip the $CE logo. In this way you can also skip
# the auto-execution of the umd that so many people hate :)
skiplogo = true;
# Specify a program to autoexecute at startup.
# Example1:
#autoboot = "ms0:/PSP/GAME/IRSHELL/EBOOT.PBP";
# Example2:
#autoboot = "ms0:/PSP/GAME/DEVHOOK/EBOOT.PBP";
#Specify a maximum of 10 modules to load and start at the startup with the vsh.
#loadmodule0 = "ms0:/PSPLINK/psplink.prx"
#loadmodule1 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule2 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule3 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule4 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule5 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule6 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule7 = "blahblah"
#loadmodule8 = "blahblah"

I am interested in creating custom prx files, yes.
Well, contact slasher, ahman, and any other shell creaters, as they have custom .prxs in their shells. Also, slasher is on right now, so it would do you good to contact him first.
So does this mean when 3.0 comes out we could use the ps1 emulator prx's?
help anyone? :cry:
Hmm....strange it doesnt work. Ill copy what I have in my config file, and you copy it into yours. Mine works, so yeah!

Not sure. I tried a custom game boot after installing, and it didn't work (the Prince of Persia one). I have been really afraid of bricking, but this thing has the recovery mode. But I would like to make a little suggestion:Zitat:
Zitat von volsfan91
If you use X-Flash with this and something goes wrong, just put X-Flash and all of it's files into the update folder. You can boot it up through Recovery Mode and undo any changes. This is much less hassle than reinstalling another firmware.
I did this and it was so much easier.
Im wondering, what other .prx are there other than screenshotbmp.prx? I wanna make my 1.5 experience better! :D
still the same :(
The recovery mode is incredible, and goes to show that if Sony had WANTED to include it, they certainly could have.
I'm waiting on a couple of things to happen with this before I do it-
1) No long term adverse effects
2) Extra features
Strange, you sure you flashed it? What was the folders name? Because this is wierd. Que cojones. :D
woah, so is recovery mode for bricked psps?
YUP! Except if you overright an important .prx, it can repair a bricked PSP.
It's for partially bricked.Zitat:
Zitat von spiderjames
IE: Bad font or background flash.
It can even recover PSPs that have corruped a .prx, as long as its not a .prx that is needed to load up the PSP! :Punk:Zitat:
Zitat von TheMarioKarters
That's neat. :DZitat:
Zitat von Master Inuyasha
Yeah, it is. Im not going to mess with those anyways, so i basically have an unbrickable psp! :DZitat:
Zitat von TheMarioKarters
yes man i flshed it and everything but no effect
Well....I cannot help you then. I dont know what can be wrong? Its very strange in my opinion. Sorry man.
Make sure you have the config file in the right location.Zitat:
Zitat von Doble-U
ms0:/psp/system/config.txt
Try screwing with the options and see if your firmware reacts.
What long term effects are you talking about?Zitat:
