Oh that sucks. Then do you know what prx loads the games?Originally Posted by The Ex

Hmm. It worked for me.Originally Posted by TheKnightInHell
I know that this may potentially be bad news but i think im basically stuck rite now....
I flashed my firmware like you guys said and then i decided to go back to original 1.5 so i made and index.dat file not exactly knowing what was suppose to be in it.
when it rebooted my version said version (i think thats the variable name for it) because it litteraly said "system software version" so i try running any eboot and to my surprise "data is corrupt" and even if i tried running a game same thing.
so i was like what the hell but i could still load eboots through so the first thing that came to mind was to run the restore unit that u guys made, and now my psp is not flashed with poc but the system version is still version, and even more worst i dont have a way to run eboots.
if u guys can find a way i would be happy but honestly i think my psp is as good as bricked and pls no one flame me its already bad enough that i mite have to live with replacing this for a ta-82 oh and if anyone tells me to restore it i tried that and even that doesnt work damn.
you tried using xflash to spoof your firmware to 1.00?
I didn't really understand that?
well not really i just made an index.dat like someone told me earlier but i must have mis understood, it was basically a txt file with 1.00 inside renamed to index.dat
and the strangest thing of all is that i can run the 2.00 update but it goes to black screen then off
can you access the mem stick?
you cant just MAKE an index.dat, it is a firmware file that it needs to see what firmware it is. see if you can find a 1.0 one somwhere around here or maxconsole, then put it in ur memory stick (under "x:/" where x is your PSPs drive letter) completly shut down the psp (not sleep mode) and hold R while booting. it will bring you to a menu and press triangle it think to reflash the index.dat. read the menu tho cuz it might not be triangle and im not responsible if u mess somthing up. if it doesnt work, upgrade to 1.5 thru the reovery menu (holding R while booting)

dude if u can use homebrew use xflash. if that doesnt work ive posted a link somewhere with a 1.00 index.dat file
ye i can access the mem stick but no hombrew runs everythings is corrupt except the 2.00 upgrader which does nothing
EDIT did i mention that i removed the poc flash by using the poc flash remover through running it with the autoload function in poc itself so now that poc is gone it cant run anything
another thing the 2.00 update was on gta:lcs disc and it ran to a black screen and if an update is on my mem stick ala 2.60 it wont run either and i dont have a 2.60 update on any of my umds :Argh:

ok hng on a sec lemme find the file
have you still got the recovery console on your psp?
try upgrading to 2.60?Originally Posted by Z30N
if you havent got the recovery console and cant run any homebrew or updates then you're fked.
yep thats pretty much what i expected to hear awell.... pm me later if u guys somehow think of a way to fix this, though i doubt it someone once said nothings impossible.....Originally Posted by jaxxster
you tried a 2.60 update? what happens when u try to run homebrew or an update?
I just asked that!Originally Posted by jaxxster
lol yeh but he didnt answer :P
true! I think he has a brick!
ye im pretty sure that its a brick, a partial brick at that mater though it still puzzels me why it is able to run 2.00 firmware updater on a umd and go to a black screen while if i run an update of my mem stick it says its corrupt. :Argh: i should have just read the manual more closely, and the thing thats most messed is that im no n00b in the psp scene and this had to happen well this warns the rest of u dont do what i did and install a messed up index.dat that i made and find one, i thought it was a config file or something, ta-082 here i come damn 2.71's gonna pwn me lolOriginally Posted by The Ex
how again did this happen? you tried turning off the psp for ten secs then holding down r as you reboot it? it puzzles me too.
here ill try explaining again, i tried to make my own index.dat by having a txt file with 1.00 inside and called it index.dat, (seriously this may seem stupid but i though it was some kind of config file that poc would use to put the number to flash it) i then flashed index.dat to my psp (ultimatly my downfall) and then tried to run other things, they all said corrupt although i was able to run stuff through poc's auto run. i saw a file somewhere on this forum to remove the poc emideitly assuming that this was causing me my problems so i set it up with the auto run and flashed it back. This would also be another idiotic move. nothing works still after that and i start to panic, so i then come to qj.net and ask around and then it clicks index.dat had to be a real file created from sony in a file in a psp.
wow damn that sucks, unless you can find a way for homebrew to boot or to get an update running then sorry to say you've got a partial brick.
are you using 1.0 version eboots or 1.5 eboots? I might flash a dodgy index.dat file to my psp to try and help you out because i can always back it up using the recovery module.
Double Post Merge
ok, i flashed a custom index.dat file i made in notepad to the psp and i got the same version as you the system version - text. No eboots ran and the umd update just went to a black screen then shut off. Sorry bad news im afraid. I have a little more of a deeper look later.
lol i thought ud say that awell the only thing i can think of is to return it but ill end up with a ta-082 and 2.71 which will really suck but i have a feeling someone here will think of a way to downgrade hopefully, until then ill keep an eye on what u have to say, if u cant figure out a way then ill have to return it.Originally Posted by jaxxster
I have Dark Alex's Custom Firmware and I configured it to boot up screenshot module (screenshotbmp.prx) but I think it isn't working; I pressed the music button in XMB but then I can't find the pictures.... Where are they supposed to be?
Sorry to hear that your psp is like that if the above sounded like I was saying something about you I wasn't.Originally Posted by Z30N

Are you SURE you can't run ANY homebrew?
You are on 1.50 correct? Are all your files properly kxploited? Try formatting your Memorystick, and then resetting settings to default. (In the Settings menu)
Then from there put the custom firmware back on the PSP, and then try to execute it. If you get a "corrupt" error again, then you really are kind of screwed. If it does initiate and install, then I can help you out through the PM system.
any new news on prx load success?
