I would like to be able to play all movie formats on the xmb.
well custom icons are for "bling bling" purposeOriginally Posted by GWKYOU
My whish is a new "HomeBrew" Icon in XMB where you could find and start homebrew app
The guy who can do that will be my personnal hero
It's called the "Game" menu.Originally Posted by tenshu
not really in the custom firmware but in the non-menu devhook that it doesn't autoboot ;) (without it loading a 2.72 fake image or whatever)
that video thing would be cool but is a far way off IMO what i would want is to be able disable all updates apart from in recovery mode!
Or u could disable it in config if u do need to reflash.
This would be perfect for people with siblings that mess with ur psp
EDIT Another thing would be to set passwords on to specific apps like xflash or thempsp or on ur video folders
The ability to play music files in subdirectories of \PSP\MUSIC and not having the stupid movie name restrictions and specific directories.
-An entire new look. Put not like psix or anything we have right now... they are to much like windows or something.
I would like the ability to be able to run non-kxploited homebrew and have a web browser.
Also, a firmware with emulators built into the XMB menu would be cool. Like you have a SNES icon next to the GAME Menu, then if you go to the SNES icon you could choose a ROM you want without having to boot a homebrew application. But sadly, this would be near impossible.
But pretty ****ing cool.Originally Posted by Access_Denied
the 2.71 webbrowser in 1.5..yeaaa
Turkish Power >_<
We have that already in Dark_Alex's first release!!! Rejoice custom firmware!!!Originally Posted by Access_Denied
**** Yeah! Custom Firmware Is Da Shiz!
A biger cache that cahces on the MS
I think being able to play atrac3's,WMA,MP4,and AVC from the xmb.
I tried all of then and for me it would be preatty easy:
When you power on (not pressing anything) it would boot devhook like in LordStrum's Custom FW.
When you power on (pressing L Trigger) boots 1.5 regular XMB
When you power on (pressing R Trigger) boot predifined HB (iRShell for me)
When you power on (pressing Both L&R Triggers) Boots Recovery mode
Now if someone could do thot for me i'd be real happy!!
That would be like my dream psp!!!
I know that mortuus released something similar but i can't get it to work so if some one could mod one just like the one above i would praise him for life!!
Just being able to load an game without version checks. No having to go around them with devhook or something like that.
I doubt that will ever happen though
Iso luanching through game menu.
full customizable boot-button assignment would be my wish for a modded firmware.
also a nice and stable recovery mode.
but a full custom firmware would have many more wishes:
need look and feel with smaller and faster os. ftp-server, opera webbrowser with all features, internet radio included in the xmb ....... and fully customizable (skinnable).
being able to use a tree structure for apps would also be nice... like having a emu subdirectory, a browser subdirectory etc.
well, in fact anything which makes it different from a normal sony xmb *g*
(am i a little child who likes to play? YES!)...
Oh, How about an extra customize button or something that has all the options that x-flash has but, obviously, wont have to boot or exit it at all and then you can see some changed in real time instead of leaving it to view it.
An option of playing music while doing things in the XMB
Because u can't look through Photos while the music is playing...
Anti-Bricking thing (say it bricks you restart while presseing R or something and it reads the Friemware from the memory stick)
-Mp3 w/ equalizer, Visualizations and lyrics.
-Watch Pics and listent to music ( should have been in FW 1.00 :|)
-Delete, Copy, Cut and ,Paste
-Backgrond with wavy lines
That would be the shiznick.Originally Posted by mincho
What I really want right now is a EBOOT.PBP which is programmed where if on autoboot it will load and if the L button is pressed it will load Devhoot on last setting if not it will continue with loading the XMB in v1.50.
Before anyone says anything YES I know Harleyg did something similar in his cf but I would rather have it in a EBOOT where I dont have to flash my PSP again.
well your not wrongOriginally Posted by TheMarioKarters
i meant a new icon for homebrew because it should be less messy
but a sub-category for Game menu would damn nice!
I wonder if this is possible ...
We can already have backgrounds with wavy lines. Just use PSPersonalize to replace the colored themes that the PSP came with with a background of your choice. Like, I replaced all of mine with a black picture, so now I have mine as black with wavy lines. Before it was a black to dark grey gradient <_<Originally Posted by mincho

Isnt this a complete request thread? Requesting custom firmware with certain features is still requesting. The rules still seem to abide. The maker of a custom firmware can chose to release the firmware or not, and can chose to be a 'pay-for' firmware or not.
But if those rules dont apply somehow, then I have an idea of my own for a custom firmware :)
This is more of a discussion. Not a request thread.Originally Posted by SG57
this may sound impossible but would i would like in a custom firmware is:
the ablility to update your 1.5 and when it is updating it dosnt allow the update to overright the security and/or add the security files that prevent homebrew and the access to flash like when its updateing and it wont compleate (kinda how the downgrade from 2.0->1.5 stoped at 99%) so you will actualy have the newest firmware but sence it wont allow the security patches you can still access flash and run any homebrew you like
this...would be so awsem but im not sure if the firmware dose a check for if the correct files are there or not....so...
I'd still like to see the implementation of a dashboard system like the xbox360. It's something sony shoulda released the psp with...it would allow us all to fix the problem of not being able to listen to music while in other menus. Especially photos and browser. Having th dashboard system would also allow us to put background music to games we're playing, that would be pretty hawt.
I'd also like the PSP itself to connect to the internet so we could message other psp users w/o needing stuff like afkim or any similar IMing program. However, due to battery life and the necessities of the wireless card, this would likely be an impossibility.
