I had a problem where my 1.5FW PSP cant connect to my linksys router, but if i used DevHook and launched any newer firmware, such as 2.5 or 2.71, then it CAN connect to the router with no problem.
There is no other mention of this problem on this forum or any other, so I'm guessing its rare. Incase you were like me and gave up hope, keep reading: Turns out that you have to disable QoS (Quality of Service) on the router for the PSP to connect correctly. QoS is a protocol that helps with some types of streams so that the packets dont get out of order i think. Anyway, you need QoS if you use a VOIP service such as vonage, otherwise, turn it off so your 1.5FW psp can log on and you can finally enjoy your PiMPstreamer and PVNC. YES! The problem came up on my Linksys SRX400 WRTG54x4 MIMO router. But this isnt the only thing that can keep you from logging on: make sure also you have your WEP or WPA keys input correctly, or if you have MAC filtering that your PSP is on the MAC approve list I really hope this helps someone, and keep an eye out for this problem if you buy one of the new MIMO or N routers. |

according to what I read about the protocol, it caters to audio and video streams to reduce jitter, but I experienced ZERO effect on my network performance, and I too have a printer shared on the network, i just tested it and its fine.
I'm thinking the feature is required for upgrading to a VOIP service. If your psp wont connect, and you dont have VOIP, you can just turn of QoS without worrying about it |

You know what's weird? I can connect PERFECTLY to the web browser on my 1.5 PSP, and view all sites fine, and listen to streams on PSPraedio, but as soon as I try to play a game online with infrastructure, I get problems. "Need for Speed: Most Wanted" online is all slow and laggy and disconnects me a lot. Gretzky doesn't even let me connect. Tried talking to Linksys, but they're no help...maybe doing this will help me. I'll try it and let you all know.
Edit: Crap! It's already disabled.

you said you can connect with your browser on 1.5? Do you mean the wipeout browser or that new plugin browser for pspradio? or using devhook? |

I used to have a 2.6 before I downgraded to 1.5, and 2.6's web browser worked fine.
While emulating 2.6 or 2.7 with Devhook, I can still use the browser perfectly. I can also use the Links2 browser perfectly. I don't understand why all of that works, but I can't play my games online. UPnP is already enabled...Which ports should I forward? |

not sure what port you need to forward, I never played any infrastructure psp games; maybe like PC games, each game has a different port it listens on, in which case the game's manual should discuss it.
if it doesnt, maybe you can try a port sniffer like Ethereal to figure out what socket the psp is trying to open, then forward that port to the psp's ip. |
