I got it, you have to use the 1.0 eboot.

It boots but on the 1.5 and on the devhook 2.71 it restarts the psp when the 1.0 eboot is launched.

Just use DevHook version .43 or .42, whichever is known NOT to corrupt data. That's what I'm going to do, since I'm sick of my stuff getting corrupted. Or I'll just run .44 on my 32 MB stick so nothing important gets screwed up.

hmmmm,

I use the browser all the time on .45

the trick that worked for me is I made the auth.dat file located in flash1 > net > http i right clicked and set it to read only.

also, try not to change any systems setting if you can help it (i.e. nickname and such)

been working like a champ for me.

if you do get a corrupt file, instead of reformatting, use the chkdsk utility

open command promt, then type in CHKDSK X: /F

X is your MS drive letter ( /f is the fix command, will remove the corrupted file from the FS TOC)

good luck

I heard this from a number of users so far, but I simply refuse to believe this can actually fix the problem and prevent data from getting corrupted.

Don't you think Booster would adjust DevHook accordingly to not write to or access the auth.dat file? Why is he saying that he's reducing the risk of data corruption in every new release if he could just easily stop it once and for all? I mean, does he even know of this "solution"?

Again, I'll do what you suggest and set my auth.dat to read only. What does that file do, anyway? Could it have something to do with the wireless encryption modes (I'm using WPA)?
