That would be cool if it were possible to emulate the bios, then just autoboot to it upon startup of 1.5 psp.

I'm checking the files posted on the forum now to see what kind they are. I'm not gonna give the link here for legal reasons but it's on the maxconsole link. I don't have a modchip so I can't test them directly.

It is a .flash..... you can only use it with the UP programmer as of right now.

Wow looks real, it comes with a bin file and a flash file. Also a tool to compress ISOs to fit more on memory stick.

Have you been living under a rock? It is firmware 2.71 with full 1.5 homebrew and ISO support.

Currently only for UP users... But I think soon there will be a way for 1.5 users to flash it to thier PSPs....

Once it gets dumped. We need a user with a modchip to flash it to thier psp first.

It uses files from the onboard flash chip for the needed 1.50 files.
Give it time and them files will be read from ms0, thats when non UP's will be able to use it.

Theres no point anyway...
We have 2.71 to boot on startup... it can load UMD's and... ISO's

It can also run homebrew...

So, why do YOU need this?
Its only useful for 2.70+ people with non ta-82's... and how many of them are there? This is just a way to get more UP's sold.

Yea it runs 1.00 and 1.50 eboots.

They talk about having decrypted the IPL and sony's encryption method, this just means every firmware that comes out will also work on devhook.

It is highly unlikely that these bios can be made to run on a PSP with one flash chip, due to the way they work.

The good thing is that we will be able to decrypt future firmwares with the chip and Booster can make them compatible with Devhook.

If that were true, I would love it but then. The end of the PSP might come closer.

With the PS3 comming and all I hope that all this screwing Sony buisness dosn't stop production of the PSP.

Run the numbers.
The number of people using this isn't even 1/10th of the total number of PSP owners.
Sony isn't going to stop a damn thing for 1/10th of anything.

Why would they give up, the percentage of people that use the PSP system for things other than playing UMD games and upgrading the firmware is really small. With many big games released and going to be released this year, I don't see the PSP going anywhere. This is no different than the mods for hte XBOX (as the XBOX has/had a biggere community than the PSP, and they had similar problems, like changed hardware and new protections).

A pro modder i know said U.P. mod chip works on TA-082 motherboards, but you need to solder 3 more addtional points.
