Yea i began typing a guide.. I would really love to contribute to the forum as I don't even post much and I even finally got something in tonight to post on the forum... But im far to sleepy to do this correctly, and logicbomb.de is completly on the right tracks with this anyway.

No problem, I just figured if 1.5 custom FW can load multiple modules viee a config file, why not 2.71 in devhook?

It started when I grabbed the Tetrapack and noticed that the custom vshex.prx file had been compiled as 'vshexHS.prx' so I poked around the install package looking for whatever file was included to allow this new prx to run as usually you just overwrite vshex, i was intriuged as to what had been altered.

so poking around led me to the pspbtcnf.txt file and searching around I happed to see this entry:

#vsh extender
ms0:/dh/kd/vshex_HS.prx

comparing it with an untouched pspbtcnf.txt file i noticed that the same entry is written as

#vsh extender
ms0:/dh/kd/vshex.prx



so I experimented renaming the prx to vshex.prx and changing the pspbtcnf.txt to match the file name, and it worked just fine.

this way, you can apply the vshex to almost any devhook installation with out having to import the pspbtcnf.txt everytime

and the rest as you know, evolved from Axionkt's short lived dissappointment of not being able to run both at once;

Open the RAR and replace the DevHook EBOOT with the one in this package, then copy the Vshex.prx file from the kd folder inside the RAR archive into the kd folder on your memory stick like before.

Download this devhook.prx file

Replace the one you have in your ms0:\dh\kd\ folder with the new devhook.prx

Ignore your custom firmware settings for now... Launch the DevHook on your PSP like normal homebrew, goto Other, and there are now 3 or 4 more options than normal, please set these options how you would like them. I definitly recommend for this... You set everything to disable (unless you want USB, enable that). Make sure you set UMD mount to "UMD" and the Game to "UMD Disc".

-> 08.
Goto Start. Your PSP will NOT load up the firmware, this is normal, if your PSP hasn't switched off by itself, turn it off manually (holding it up for 5 seconds-ish). Re-Connect to your PC in USB Connection.

-> 09.
You need to replace that EBOOT with one that doesn't show any output and loads straight away, this can be found here

(btw for KXpliot users, you only need to replace the DevHook EBOOT, you dont have to change the DevHook% EBOOT, as it is only the graphics for the PSP menu)

The extra options INI is now set, goto ms0:\dh\ and right click "addon.ini" and goto Properties. Tick "Read-only"... Apply then OK. Rename "devhook.ini" to "autoboo.ini" (yes autoboo, that is not a typo).

Open the EBOOT in ms0:\PSP\Game\DevHook\EBO OT.pbp (which should be the DevHook you just launched a second ago). CTRL + F and look for "devhook.ini"

-> 12.
Replace the string "devhook.ini" with "autoboo.ini". Same number of characters, make sure Overwrite mode is on, so it replaces the string. Save it, open it again to make sure the changes did save. Now close it.

-> 13.
Open ms0:\PSP\System\config.tx t
Under where it says about holding L to launch DevHook. Type the path of DevHook here, and make sure there is no # (hash) before it. Example would be: "ms0:\PSP\Game\DevHook\EB OOT.pbp";

-> 14.
Now to get hold of the DevHook GUI

Copy the main EBOOT into ms0:\PSP\SYSTEM
and Rename it as DevBoot.pbp
Copy the entire modfiles folder into ms0:\dh\kd\
so you have ms0:\dh\kd\modfiles\image s etc
Copy the Devhook.prx into ms0:\dh\kd so it replaces it.

Getting long now... Concentrate though, you want this done properly. Download this

Place the PRX file found in PSP\SYSTEM in ms0:\PSP\System
Open the config.txt again
and towards the bottom make sure you have...
loadmodule0 = "ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/vshex.prx"
Double check you have Skip logo on "true;" Save and close the file.

-> 16.
Open dh/271/flash0/kd/pspbtcnf.txt in Wordpad (Most importantly, NOT Microsoft Word or Notepad!)
Under the line which says

#vsh extender
ms0:/dh/kd/vshex.prx

Add a line underneath so it looks exactly like this...

#vsh extender
ms0:/dh/kd/vshex.prx
ms0:/dh/kd/vshex2.prx

Save the file and close the document.

The default skin in the custom GUI is cool, but very hard to customise in a few clicks. Download my very own skin

The skin folder is "images" which can be found in ms0:\dh\kd\modfiles\
Make sure to replace every file inside images.
Its very easy to customise my skin, simply replace background.png found in "images" with any image you like, make sure it is saved over with PNG though.

Test running now...

--> To Launch ANY 2.71 UMD, Hold L during Boot OR Select DevHook from your Memory stick under Game on the PSP

--> To Launch your GUI Version of DevHook which will allow you to change settings and launch using different options, press HOME + L while in the 1.50 XMB. Any settings will NOT be applied to the first DevHook (which means you can always rely on holding L during boot to run your UMDs properly)

--> To Quit from any 2.71 XMB, press HOME + Start

This whole thing can be taken further with experience, I hope you have everything sucessfully working. If there are any problems, please post in the forum, help is always around.
