According to the site policy on "the piracy issue," the administrator of this website claims to not provide rom, ISO, or ISO loader downloads, to avoid getting into legal trouble with Sony, and presumably, other companies. However, I still see illegal, pirate software being provided at pspupdates in the form of homebrew programs.
Copied from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright_infringement :
Copyright infringement is the unauthorized use of copyrighted material in a manner that violates one of the original copyright owner's exclusive rights, such as the right to reproduce or perform the copyrighted work, or to make derivative works that build upon it.
Unauthorized use of copyrighted material. I'll put this in simple terms:
http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=58710 <-- LEGAL!
http://pspupdates.qj.net/index.php?pg=49&aid=43282 <-- ILLEGAL!
Copyright infringement and what qj.net defines as piracy fall under the same tree, in regards to legality. If you guys want to adopt a no-piracy policy, fine. Just don't half-ass it. I'd call you hypocrites, but this seems more like ignorance than hypocrisy.
