Ok, apparenlty most people arn't looking at the full story here, so let's look at everything:

Reboot_1.50.bin is the copyrighted material by SONY, that is mixed with DevHook0.43fix.

To everyone that hasn't followed the site fully, you need to know that BOOSTER did not upload that "fix", as BOOSTER uploads them as a new version. That file was uploaded with the reboot.bin (copyrighted sony material) because it was needed to reboot to 1.5 with the sortcut keys, that is the supposed fix. As BOOSTER did not upload the FIX, the warning was not AIMED at him. Therefor BOOSTER is NOT in legal trouble whatsoever at all.

Moreover, please annul it at once when downloaded 0.43fix is preserved at hand, and it uses it.

It's not clear as to wether or not this is the Admin asking for information about the user that uploaded it, or Sony, but that simple fact is, IT IS NOT BOOSTER!

The site CHOSE to remove DevHook ON THEIR OWN! This is because it's not the first time copyrighted uploads involving devhook, AND fake versions have been uploaded. Therefore to avoid this they choose not to host it at all to avoid the heat.

As for the site being "down", I suspect they were hit HARD with everyone wanting to see the site that had never seen it before. I thought it was just the heavy traffic yesterday, but I suspect they blocked all traffic outside of Japan (limiting IP address to ones inside Japan, and yes this IS possible). If the site was taken down, there would be some kind of message by either the board admins or law enforcement who would take it over.


THERE IS THE CLEAR STORY OF WHAT HAPPENED! I wish the news had portrayed it as what it is, and not as some drama story...

Yes, users can submit, but I'm sure the content is protected by the posters and admin, not just any user, otherwise there would be problems with mass deletion of files...

No, AFAIK it is a complete wiki, which is why that illegal fix was posted. I went to the site before it went down, and you could edit stuff.

The upload system allows the uploader to put a "delete password", and it generates one automatically, so the admin is the only other person who could have removed the files.

well, there never is a message when a site is taken down by law enforcement (see the recent torrent site bustings).

Although there aren't much people looking here, Server's Apache has some unknown reasoning errors, and can't be launched, currently it is under modification. Depending on the reason, might have to re-create the environment, so, this might take alot of time. Due to not having much time, am thinking of doing his during the night and finish it up then. It is, as it is the only part of distributed devhook that was copyrighted material, it was not needed to be distributed as one can dump this themself.

I'm a bit late, but thanks for clearing this up. I knew the front page story wasn't totally accurate. Anyway, so has anyone heard any news about Booster or a new DevHook and the future of DevHook? Also, does anyone know if anyone has tried to decrypt the 2.8 reboot.bin...I haven't heard anything about it.

Cool, I wonder where he'll upload it now (not really, there's so many upload sites out there...) I can't really guess what new features there could be unless it means totally new fuctionality, because DevHook already does all the features it needs to (emulate the firmwares). I guess there could be NAND driver emulation, would be absolutely amazing (you'd never need to update DevHook for newer firmwares because you could update yourself on the emulated firmware), and maybe custom emulated firmwares, but that's all I can think of.
