Unhappy Is Homebrew Slowly Dying?

Right now the PSP homebrew scene's doing pretty well... But a few years down the line virtually all PSPs will be TA-82s...

The original GTAs that provided users with the "key" to homebrew will also become a rarity. In addition, more new PSPs will be loaded with the latest 2.7x firmware.

As a result, I believe the homebrew community will shrink and slowly become some niche.

What do you guys think? Is Sony's war against homebrew succeeding?

No way. Homebrew is not dying, in fact it is growing. Look at something like zx-81's gba emulator. Is that a sign of homebrew dying ? No. Sony is suceeding but they are not winning either.

I don't think so, $ony will always be against homebrew and everything thats included with it. And developers will always move a step higher.

Follow the history from firmware 1.00 till 2.6 and you'll see what i mean.

The history always repeats it self!

Wink

I've come to the conclusion that it'll probably become as dull as gameboy hb, but as for dying... probably never as far as things are going.

But TA-82 PSPs will prevent new homebrew access for new users. It won't really matter if devs crack the firmware if virtually everyone owns a TA-82.

All TA-082 MOBO's do is stop downgrading below 2.5, hb works fine.

That is true. We'll all be using our PSP2s by the time PSP homebrew is dying I suppose.
