i have been at this for months,since the idea of a writable umd came about.I discovered the umd is just as a dvd would be made,same format,iso 9660,same lasers,just different system.so i thought to myself,if its dvd compliant,why not dvd-/+r/w compliant.so i started work on a "umd burner"so to speak.I found there are plenty of spair umd drive on the web for cheap,so i went "what the hell do i have to lose.I have had alot of previous experience with this kind of stuff,like for instance puting a dvd drive together after taking it apart,finding how everything works.then recently when the umd tools leaked out i thought,hey,if i can make my own umd image,and run it off off a burnt umd,would it work?but alas,no recordable umds.but later i was trying to find ways to make a umd but to no avail.luckily i met a guy (wants to keep his anonominity) that has been developing for psp since release.well anyway he had managed to go to WDC 04 and snag a glance at the umd format.of course at the time they were blank umds,so he thought hed peep sround a litle to get "an indepth look" at the new format,an posible ways to take advantage of the format.he has been developing a while and hadnt needed the disc so he gave it to me as a keepsake.well low and behold an actual blank umd.it was time to get started on a new burner software.well with all of the tools available for free,it was cake to make utilitys for burning a umd so to no avail,i give you this screenshot.

Seems plausable. I would like to see what can be done with this. Screenshots look genuine (opened them in photoshop and zoomed in, btw, no 'defects').

theres is fakeness in 3 ways, where is the game folder, and why is the umd icon the umd update icon, and why si there only 46mb free space.........need i say more

show us a pic of the actuall umd, and then we might belive you

@ SpartanIIMark6,

He might not have a card inserted which would cause the MS folder under Game not to show up and the 46Mb remaining may just be a side effect of the procedure he used to get the screenshot. I suppose anything could cause the update icon though.

So what are you saying- you burnt to a mini-DVD, and then put it in a UMD housing?

This is what I don't understand:
The guy that got into WDC got you this blank UMD -> You started on some new UMD burning software -> an image of 46 megs left on this UMD

How did we get from step 2 to 3?

In your case: image doesn't appear Photoshopped
Against your case: How you put data on the UMD, and why it's giving you a readout of how much there is left on this supposed burnt UMD

Hmm, im not believing this as well, but.

1. Game folder gone = no memory stick inserted

2. Update icon maybe cause it is blank and it is home made (if its real)

3. 46mb of free space...maybe he put an iso on it.

All three things could be proven real, but im still not believing until i see more pics.

if you read the post i has for months developed a umd buner with a dvd burner lense and later when it had a use(burn umds)i made the software and ran it and burned a umd.Ill post another screenshot of the same thing but with more data burned.btw for testing reasons i just dumped various dumby files from my legal backups.

the attachment is the same burnt umd but with more data burnt to it.i have everything i need for screenshots flashed to my flash so that if something happens to my memory card i dont have to go searching again for needed stuff.i dont keep homebrew in flash,but i modded the recently made custom firmware to load stuff in flash instead of memory stick,should something happen.

yeah it is... psp2tv, hooked up to a tv tuner.... screeshot program on the PC...

why dont you name your UMD and burn some MORE data on to it.

PSP2TV does not render images that high quality, and it wouldn't be EXACTLY 480x272.

yeah it does, it gives full res, maybe its not psp2tv... its the one without the camera, with the custom faceplate..
