This is a discussion on Emulators, Homebrew and Creativity oh my! within the PSP Homebrew and Hacks Discussion forums, part of the PSP Development, Hacks, and Homebrew category; ........
Give it time for ****'s sake. The PSP homebrew scene is in it's infancy.
I want people to see this so as to inspire or to redirect the flow.
Sony patches the firmware to get rid of us. Can you blame them if all they see is people making files to pirate games and such?
Maybe you should just lay off and let the dev's release the way the want to release.
Man you have alot of nerve.
I totally agree with you. Developers should release a complete or near-complete version of what they're making. For instance, all these SNES emulators made by "Y" are getting annoying. Couldn't they just release one MAJOR upgrade to their emulators?
Please dont flame me, saying "Id like to see you make an emulator" because I just cant, but I have a right to express my opinion.
No one says you have to dl every new release that comes out. If its so annoying to you.. download it once.. leave for a month.. come back and download the new version then... sheesh....
...and watch your state save files become outdated like some have already from older versions! :)Originally Posted by dude051

none of this is suppsoed to be flawless. devs are experimenting with the ways that work best... don't complain unless you can make something better
What the HELL was the question!
Greedy little children we all are.
These devs are just plain old game loving geeks like the rest of us. They aren't some mega corporation with an army of programming zombies at their disposal. These are guys sitting at a dusty old PC with a Coke, a bag of Chee-Tos, and banging out code for a machine that they have no documentation for.
That they manage to produce anything is a miracle. That they choose to share it with a bunch of leeches who will mostly complain about what a pile of crap it is is an even bigger miracle.
What the hell do some of you think? Do you think you have a right to make demands from the developers who are sharing with us out of the kindness of their hearts? Who in the hell do you think you are?
Opinions are one thing, sure we can say that we like or don't like this or that. But, to come out and make demands about what features you want and don't want and telling the devs that they should release this way or that way because of what YOU want is rude and ungrateful.
You don't like what's happening, don't participate. None of us is putting anything into the development of the homebrew projects, yet we are reaping all of the benefits. It's high time some of us learned some damned manners around here.
And, no I don't care if you think I'm stupid.
Maybe I'm weird, but I just play with emulators for some quick fun and a bit of old-fashioned twitch-gaming. I couldn't possibly imagine trying to work through a whole RPG or other large game on an emulator, especially one on the PSP. So many of these emulators are just plain buggy and sluggish.Originally Posted by WraithLeader
I would think that I would rather have better performance, enhancements, and features than having my save states be any good from one version to another. There is really no game I can think of that I would be so upset about losing a save state for. Besides, it's not that hard to work your way back to a certain point on most games if it really matters that much.
But, like I said, maybe I'm just weird.
savestates are cheating anyways :P
