Default cpu upgrade?

has any body out there thought about upgradeing the cpu from 333 mhz to maybe 2.6 ghz ? maybe a notebook cpu might work? wouldnt that be enough to emulate ps1 ps2 and n64 at full speed? and some internal rom upgrades?

first off, the xbox uses an IBM CPU, so the motherboard would not be compatible with AMD.
second, the architecture is completely off and the software on the 360 would not run
thirdly, the CPU contains microsofts private encrypted keys, so if you switched the CPU it wouldnt work
fourly, game consoles cannot be customized by switching out major hardware, it just simply does not work that way

Unfortunately, CPUs need to be cooled; increase the power and you increase the heat. The reason Sony didn't use something higher has as much to do with the limitations of the design as it does the cost of such CPUs.

Oh my god. Please... stop thinking now. Take a read at this before posting http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIPS_architecture

I would love to know how your going to use a different processor architecture on the PSP?

You cannot reprogram a CPU's architecture, it is physically on the CPU's dye. It is physically impossible to put a AMD Processor in a Xbox 360 let alone a PSP. Now, If you were talking about an original Xbox and a Intel lower end cpu, I would believe you, but this, there is no way.

You have been dis-proved, now GTFO.

I bet I could make a better CPU with a block of wood and a nail than this guy could make in a CPU factory.

If you really worked with Microsoft, at least capatalise the letter M in Microsoft because it is a buisness.

What you are saying is you designed a completly new console becuase if you changed out the processor and mobo, it's obvioulsy not an XBox 360.

*cracks knuckles*
right, the psp, as we all know, uses a MIPS architecture CPU. Your average laptop uses an x86 architecture, or if you are clever and have a mac perhaps a powerpc arch. For you to go away and fit an x86 chip to a psp would require a radical redesign of the entire system - hardware and software. It would never ever EVER work, and even if you did manage to get the thing to turn on, it wouldnt run any PSP code without an emulation layer emulating the MIPS architecture you just replaced! The different architectures are not interchangable by their very nature. Its like trying to get a German to try and read Ancient Egyptian - its just not going to happen.

As has been previously mentioned, the reason a MIPS chip at 333mhz was used in the psp is because it generates little heat, it is small, has low (ish) power requirements and also makes it easier for developers of ps2 games to switch to the psp.

No, you didnt change the processor in an xbox 360, and no you didnt work with Microsoft. If you had, you wouldn't be ignorant enough to be suggesting such impossible things.

I cant wait to see what iBall etc makes of this ;-)

u have to know someone with a digital camera that you can borrow for like 30 seconds to take a picture other than yourself right? i find it hilarious how the proof of what he's claimed rests solely of his girlfriend in italy and the digital camera he wont get back for a month. classic.

If your going to lie about something hisnameinvain, do your homework and find out if its even possible before you go around making bold claims. Those AMD processors you supposedly put in your x360 are x86, and x360s native processor is a IBM powerpc. Even if you werent lying, which you obviously are, your mod would be completely pointless as all your games would no longer work. Leaving you with an xbox360 that did absolutely nothing.
