Well you can upgrade to 3.10 OE-A which is Dark_Alex's custom firmware or you can go and get PSP Brew and convert the EBOOT into Kxploited format.Originally Posted by Silent_Sin
hmm yea dont really know about the 3.10 OE-A a little to much negative threads about that lol..
but i will try the PSP Brew
thx 4 the help.

thanks alot, your guide was great and all the games work perfectly
EDIT: Nevermind I figured out how to get it working.
I used PSPBrew to convert the EBOOT into 1.5 Kxploit format. It was a bit tricky using PSPBrew version 9.
After creating the 1.5 eboots, just makes sure that you copy both EBOOTs from the C Drive > PSP > GAME directory. There should be 2 EBOOTs within the folders that needs to be copied over. You have to overwrite the original cps2psp EBOOT with the new one. Then copy the other EBOOT with the % to the proper folder.
Thanks for the guide!

killingscum it seems like you really know your mvsc and psp when I load my rom both mvsc and mvsf this is the error.
How can I fix this???
I am using cps2 ver 1.66
on psp FW 1.5
ERROR: unsupported version of cache file "V20".
Current required version is "V09"
Please rebuild cache file.
Press any button
I'm not really a pro at this yet.
But are you creating the cache from parent set of ROM? I ran into a problem like that by trying to create a cache on a clone rom. Make sure you are creating the cache on the correct set of ROM.

Great guide. You should also provide a link for the new 2.06 one. I got my roms and I didn't even have to mess with the XOR or anything like that. All I have to is cache each of my roms which was a quick process.
Yeah I know. I need to re-write the entire guide or at least most of it so it can be up-to-date. I can't at the moment as Ive got a lot to do, but when I find time I will.Originally Posted by OSIRIS273
Found the time to update the guide to its FINAL update. Completely up-to-date. Good luck guys. if you have any questions please ask on this thread and I will include them in the FAQ.
i am just a newbie here, anyone please help me because i get the error,
"the game could not be started (80020148)"
on my psp.. so what could be the problem and how can i solve it?

Why was this sticky taken down? The possibility of the Capcom Play System 3 appearing on the PlayStation Portable is higher now then ever with the release of the first CPS 3 emulator already out. I believe this topic should be stickied again as more updates are appearing from various places upon the emulation of CPS 3. On another note, if there is a release of a CPS 3 emulator on the PSP, I will be integrating both guides. Mods please re-sticky this, or move it to the guides section or something.
What is this? (I never used any type of emulators, so don't blame me >.<)
Capcom Play System 2 is a arcade machine. This thread tells you how to set up the emulator for the CPS 2 for your psp.Originally Posted by Djrocks

Emulator(s) - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emulator
Once you have read that, I suggest you go ahead and read about the 3 different versions of the CPS (Capcom Play System). Obviously since it is an arcade emulator titled "Capcom Play System," it plays various arcade titles created by Capcom which are very popular.
How do I get the background image (banner), to show up? It has only the icon for CPSII and the cool background does not show up.
Thanks for your help.
It depends, what did you download? Did you download it from the links I provided on top or from NJ's site?Originally Posted by DarKrieger
Yes, that is correct. But they don't show. Any help would be appreciated.
Your Answer is, download it from the links I have provided, THE LINKS ARE THE ACTUAL COOL BACKGROUND PICTURES.Originally Posted by DarKrieger
Thanks, I got it to show the cool looking (and sounding) wallpaper and background music.
Where is the difference between Capcom Play System 2 [07 X Red System] and Capcom Play System 2 [Original]?
A long time ago when I first created this thread the "[Original]" was the one I first made, it was just based off of a blue colored theme, but then I re-wrote the tutorial and decided to remake the background in red with extra stuff, they both have different songs, but they are the same picture just with different colors and sounds and stuff, they are also the same version of the emulator.Originally Posted by DarKrieger
Does anyone know how to get ad-hoc to work with this? I don't know if there's anything special i need to do.
Edit : N/M, I found it, had to push Square instead.
For some reason the D-pad isn't working right, when i try to play some games it won't let me do any moves.
