Summary: Bookr 0.7.1 released
Bookr 0.7.1 is mostly a bug fix release. It fixes many of the problems with image heavy PDF files and adds support for CJK fonts in PDF documents.

- Added support for PDF files with Chinese, Japanese and Korean text.
- Added a memory usage counter.
- Added single line scroll for the analog pad in the text viewer.
- Bookr will now try to block images from loading in PDF files when it is
runing low on memory.
- Fixed many memory leaks in the image loader for PDF files. Bookr can load
and display PDF files with more images than before.
- Fixed memory leaks releasing the PDF viewer singleton.
- Restored full page scroll with cursor buttons.
- Fixed font corruption for large font sizes in the text viewer.
- Fixed page positions in the text viewer after changing the font size and/or
font rotation. Bookmarks for text files are not compatible with older
releases.

Could I replace the IRShell Plugin with the 1.0 eboot? or does it have to be a special eboot to work with IRShell?

How does it view basic html files? I've tried it with just a simple line of text within a basic HMTL file. Maybe you could offer a small html file as a reference on how to do it. I would like to convert the bible to work in your program. And I need to be able to set links. HTML would be nice for that.

Cool Fix the left/right scrolling

I really love this app, it is so useful and cool.
1000s of books to carry with you, all for the weight of the psp.
This is one of the best apps for the psp!!

I do have a problem with it though, can someone or the author fix the analog left and right scroll speed so that it slows down or by pressing another combo button like vol +/- to fine tune the left/right analog scroll, because some books need to be manually centred after a manual zoom, and the Speed at which the analog moves is too fast.

I know about the automatically centre option but sometimes the text is to too small and you need to do a 1 or 2 zoom press which requires manually
re -centring.

Does anyone have the same problem as me??

Thanks to the authors again for a great app.
I hope you fix this!!!

Thumbs up Wishlist

I also find that app one of the most useful for the PSP.

I would also like to have some finer scrolling speed for the analog pad, because sometimes the text needs to be manually centered.

And, can someone explain, why bookr always "reboots" when switching on my PSP? It shows the current page for a short moment, then the splashscreen, loads the first page, and then the current page again. This can be a lengthy process, since I run bookr with low clock speed. Would be nice, if this was omitted.

And another wish on my bookr wishlist: how about dynamically switching the processor speed? Run the processor as slow as possible when not scrolling, but switch to 222 MHz for generating new screen content and then back again to slow speed. This would save me a lot of time, because scrolling is a bit boring when using 25 MHz to save battery.

Keep it up! I love this app

Try setting your battery at 111mhz, 25 seems too slow.

Hi
I seem to be having some problems getting this to display chinese text. I've tried saving the text in different .txt formats and tried displaying it with chinese fonts on the PSP, but they all give differen't looking gibberish.
I've also tried placing the text in a Word document (So I can get vertical right-to-left text), then converting it to a pdf, but in the PDF conversion process, it once again changes everything to gibberish...

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

There is never going to be an official update to this is there. Rats, and I never got a chance to talk about it while the developer was still around. Or was the dev never around QJ I wonder.

Make sure the .TXT files are using Unicode encoding.

Default Newbie Help

Hi guys, desperately need some help here.... complete newbie to psp...
Have copied the correct files from the download to the psp/game folder but haven't a clue now how to load the programme or copy the books over. Which folders to use etc... Any help would be appreciated!

Ok - update to the above, have managed to find the correct folder I believe to put the books into, but the programme is now not starting up, error message 'The game could not be started. (8002014C)'
Any suggestions?
