i've chosen to make a new thread about this to "get the word out" a bit more on if the video was faked or not.

i have just watched the video marked "M4V20018.MP4". the first thing i notice was the video is interlaced (google it if you would like an explaination).
the first thing that comes to mind is that if this was edited by someone who knew what they were doing, they would deinterlace it.
i'd imagine that editing this with interlacing would only make complications for the editor.
i can use this as a tool though. i'll look for inconsistancies in the interlacing.
though i'll keep in mind the possibility that this was interlaced after being edited to make it harder to spot any flaws in the editing.
now im going to watch the second video, marked "M4V20020.MP4". i'm watching these in VLC player, if anyone cares.
second video is also interlaced. i havn't paid attention to the audio, but i'll take a look at that as well to see if the audio still syncs up with the videos at the end, or if the audio seems to have been cut at any point.
i'm going to be looking for evidence of editing in VirtualDubMod (a modded version of VirtualDub).
more useless information for people who care, mp4 is not an actual codec or video format. it's a container which may be containing various codecs or fomrats. the more you know!(cause knowledge is power)
VDM won't take mp4 files though, so i'm going to import this into premiere, and export it as an avi with lagarith (lossless) codec.
premire and vegas wouldn't take the mp4, and i'm not about to go looking for a plugin.
pinnacle 10.5 took it though. it's an evil little program though, so it refused to change the codec to lagarith or huffyuv without crashing, so im using it to convert it to DV. it's rendering right now (i'm merging the 2 videos into 1, btw)
now its in DV. converting it to a lagarith avi through premiere now.
premiere crashed while rendering. an error with one of the frames. evidence of editing? maybe, maybe not.
premiere just likes the user around sometimes, so i'm letting this one slide.
vegas is rendering it right now with no problems.
now im im Vdub. gonna post results as i uncover them.
vdub isn't finding any errors in the video, but this is expected since the video has been re-rendered.
the interlacing is consistant. the framerate seems consistant as well (no "paused" frames)
the contrast of the psp's screen is also consistant.
no frames were cut.
i can still take a look at the audio if anyone
really wants me to, but i don't see any need for it. this video is real.
final conclusion:
REAL
now, i'd like to make it clear that i'm saying the
video is real. this does NOT mean that the emulator is real (nor has it been concluded that it's fake).
this video has not been tampered with (perhaps they should have, though. interlacing is anoying)
