Default PSP Memo Recorder v0.6.1

Hi,

I'm posting PSP Memo Recorder v0.5, which is a sample program showing usage of the audio input syscalls. With this program you can record (in RAM) 5 seconds of audio and play it back afterwards.

It requires the PSP remote and a headset such as the one used for the SOCOM game. PC to PSP headset adapters should also work.

Usage
------

* Hit R trigger to start and stop recording;

* Hit L to play and the recorded content;

* Hit X to enter loop mode, causing the input to be
placed directly in the audio output buffer;

* Hit O to exit the program.

Credits to Saotome for helping figure out the arguments of these syscalls.

* UPDATE *

I am now releasing the 0.6 version, which fixes the bug found in the first release. Meanwhile I am close to release a version with unlimited time file writing support.

PS: This version now features 60 seconds of recording time.

* UPDATE 2 *

I am now releasing the 0.6.1 version:
  • Mic level control added. By pressing up and down it can be increased or decreased.

For downloading the program check this thread.

By hitting R trigger recording starts. Hitting L plays the recorded content. Hitting X causes the program to enter loop mode, causing the input to be placed directly in the audio output buffer.

It still has a bug the causes the program to crash after a few runs, but it's just a start point to more interesting stuff.

maybe if you get this to work great you can make a plugin for irshell or something for custom firmware so you can record anything at any time,like a prx or something..also why the 5 second limit?I mean is it a hardware based thing(not enough ram,ect) or is it just for the sake of the memo?
-= Double Post =-
btw have you thought of adding like a ram dumper that dumps the file to memory stick?

I'm thinking of first improving it as a standalone application, introducing some basic things like writting to WAV and MP3/ogg directly onto the memory stick. Consider this application just a proof of concept to a very recent finding. I should be able to release a version with unlimited wav recording very soon.

Later I shall consider converting it to a IRShell plugin, which should not imply too much additional effort.

I think this is the very first homebrew application that uses the PSP Headset. I may consider purchasing one too.

Right on! This has a lot of potential. If you could integrate a longer recording time, and maybe some editing options you could have yourself one of the best homebrew apps out.

Networkgamer, make sure your headset is connected through the psp remote.
