im asking in this thread, who upgraded after downgrading from 2.71 to downgrade again for a cleaner FW?

I upgraded to 2.0 when I had downgraded from 2.01 since MPH's dg is a bit cleaner.

If you mean the MPH 2.0 to 1.5, yes I did.

I didn't, I don't really see how "unclean" firmware could effect your psp. But if I'm missing something, I'd be glad to hear it.

I downgraded to 1.00 then Upgraded to 1.50, for a "clean" eboot.

Wifi is unstable on unclean 1.5s. Not to mention, flash1 is not even touched by the downgrader, so there's files that shouldn't be there that are.

Makes sense. Well, I downloaded the MPH downgrader, and long and behold McAfee sees h.bin as a trojan. I can deal with that, but I do have a few questions, all I need is the 1.50 update, I don't need a firmware dump? And some one said it only goes up to 99%, so do I like turn it off at 99% or something?
EDIT: Also, I have already installed a custom firmware (Casual v3), do I need to uninstall that before I upgrade to 2.00?

i was wondering what the percentage of bricking from downgrading 2.0 was?? if its 100 pecent u wont brick if u follow instructions then i will do it...also, can u test a downgrade on devhook(e.g. the 2.71 downgrade?) and would it brick yourpsp or just do nothing if it screwed up?

hm, i didn't do that, i used the 2.5/2.6 downgrade in my psp.
But i'm decided to make when my psp recharges the battery.

then up tp 2.71 again, and i tried 4 to 5 times, changed the downdater and that 8 kb thingyy, oh... that was risky, but, i succeed on the 6th attempt... =_=

i got that too
i downgraded 2 times from 2.71 to 1.5
but now i am sad cuz i bricked my friends one with the dg

I thought you were supposed to downgrade to 1.0 and then upgrade to 1.5. If you know you got a clean dump for 1.5 is it necessary to do this?

I'm going to say that it's impossible to brick a 2.00 with the MPH downgrader. As long as you wait 10 seconds after seeing the numbers, you will be fine.

And as for downgrading from a Devhooked 2.71, (DON'T TAKE MY WORD FOR IT) the NAND is emulated, so it won't brick your actually PSP, it might brick the emulated NAND, in which case is restorable.

I might up and down, but I just installed DA's proof of concept custom firmware (and did some pimpin' of the PSP).

Do I have to uninstall everything and undo all my pimpin'? :P

Better yet, I can't use WiFi on 1.50 anyways (WAP-TKIP), so does it really matter?
