Default My new homebrew, slightly better than before

Hi everyone, Ive recently started developing and Ive made a stable little psp util. Its an eboot loader that runs on 1.5, it boots popular homebrews much quicker than the sony xmb does and can fire up usb (I added it to test each new compiled app quicker, but its useful) Anyways, Ive also made a custom firmware to go with it that boots straight into my app and also xflash, devhook and the recovery.elf. Ive made an installer to install the app to flash1. Ive been putting off posting it because I didnt know if anyone would find it usefull, its usefull for me so Il upload it if I anyone wants a look? Jason

EDIT: New version 14/9/06 faster and better looking

http://rapidshare.de/files/33105879/fastboot09.zip.html

any comments much appreciated

It sounds cool. Does it actually boot all of the homebrew quicker? About how much quicker? Thanks.

Im just making it into a nice easy zip for installing. It loads up everything in less than half the time the normal menu does. Its limited to the homebrew I chose but I think it covers most popular bits. I can always add any suggestions to it. My pc is being a dog at the mo so il have it uploaded asap, I better make a short readme for instructions too. BRB

Wow, half the time is actually quite an improvement. Good luck, and Good Job and release it whenever you finish it.

That sounds cool. I always liked having an eloader and no having to organize my homebrew. Anyway I am looking forward to using it. Great idea.

It needs you to have harleyg`s recovery elf for easy install, let me know what you think? Im a c noob

It loads a little bit from flash 1, it starts quicker than the xmb and Im sure it loads home brew quicker, If you dont have the homebrew installed it just goes back to the xmb

p.s. is posting rapid share links aloud?

p.p.s.
it loads from ( I shouldve made a better readme)

ms0:/PSP/SYSTEM/DEVBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__XFLASH/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__PSPRADIO/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/FileAssistant/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__Links2/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__NOTEPAD/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/PSPlayerMT/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/SNES 9x TYL ME/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__psp-ftpd/EBOOT.PBP
ms0:/PSP/GAME/__SCE__PIMPSTREAMERV201/EBOOT.PBP
flash0:/kd/recovery.elf

If your homebrew is in different folder names or not there it just goes back to the xmb

Anyone tried it yet? Im eager to see what people think

Sorry Im not very clear. All it does is load a menu with button presses to load your homebrew. The custom firmware bit makes it load up when you switch on your psp and press O while it starts, you only have to press O for about 3 seconds( maybe less) and it will load my menu rather than the sony one. Its easy to use. When its loaded its all the controls are displayed on screen, you press the button, it loads whatever you chose. The install bit shouldnt be too bad.
1- copy contents of MSROOT to memory stick
2- load FastBoot Menu Installer from Game menu
3- press O and it will copy 2 files, then press home
4- (optional but better) reboot and go into your recovery mode
5- select copy vshmain.prx and wait for it to say it was succesfull
6- exit and press O while it restarts

Notes !! IMPORTANT !!

Only works on 1.5
I have used alot of source from dark_alex I have asked if thats ok but havent yet got an answer (is it ok?)
Flashing vshmain is dangerous, I accept no responsibility for anything unnexpected that happens. Anything that changes flash0 is dangerous.
I have only tested this on my own psp, its still working fine(Ive been changing it a bit daily for weeks) and had no troubles. Your psp needs to be over 50% charged when installing and copying vshmain.
You need to already be using a custom firmware!
Pressing O after exiting most homebrew loads fastboot again (All the startup buttons work)

Umm I think thats it,hope that helps. I think its ok, It could be better but its ok.
Maybe I should call it okBoot?

Thats cool. I made it copy onto the flash because it loads it much faster, if I make another version Il make it take less room. But it is fully tested by me and its fine on mine. It only copies 2 small files onto the falsh1, and the vshmain replaces your existing mod( mine was harleyg`s v02, so I suggest using that first, I havent tried it with any other custom firmware mods). I was worried about testing the vshmain, so my girlfriend snatched it and pressed it for me... i restarted it, worried nothing was going to happen, but it did, it works great. Ive changed it and reflashed loads of times since then, a few times a night, no problems. Ive been lucky. But it works 100% in my tests. Maybe someone with a chip would like to do some testing for proof?
Ive been reading the forums since december before that i was modding my xbox lots. I just read the forums and not say much, most things I wonder have already been asked and answered, and I end up typing far to much
Hope someone else finds it useful, jas

Now they do mod chips I was braver, it could always be fixed. I havent had any problems with it, but its always a risk writing to flash0. My custom fw is only a few added bits to the original dark alex source, i just added some new buttons. All the features are the same, but it loads devhook with L and O starts my menu, Triangle loads XFlash and X loads psplayermt, pressing nothing loads like normal. You can copy to memory stick and run the installer then my menu, the firmware bit only starts it faster and lets you reload it after exiting homebrew. It works without it. I read that flash1 gets written to in normal use so I figured it safe to copy bits there to load faster.

So it loads a fixed set of homebrew? That's OK, it's still cool

Heres the menu page, has anybody tried it yet? it works good, but I understand if no body tries it, you can always use it from the memory stick after running the installer. I can write it so it runs off the memory stick instead if anyone wants to give that a go?
EDIT:
Ok I made a version that only needs to be put on your memory stick, so there is no risk at all, I really want to know what people think of it, please try it and leave me a comment, its in my other thread called fastboot lite

thats the download link TheMarioKarter put on for me, I posted a zip file this ones a rar but I think its all the same, this lite version is slow but shows what it does and how it looks. The 1st version requires at least running the installer but its much faster

Its alright, maybe it should read the MS, then just list the apps found in the game folder, then you just hit up and down to scroll and hit X or O to load

thank you, Like eloader? I wrote preset homebrew in so it would load faster and read less. Im thinking about adding a txt file for configuring it, where to load from ect. That isnt working yet though. Im still working on it, hopefully a better version will be out soon
