Hey guys, I just wanted to know if it was safe to install the POC. I just downgraded (so it's not a 'clean' 1.5) and I want to try it, without a brick.

well i think first upgrade to 2.00 then downgrade back for a "clean" FW.

I would then advise harleyg 0.2 custom FW as it has recovery mode which can save a semi brick.

I only use dark alex's POC as it is all i want its very safe too

People have got partial bricks over time from a bad dump, and sometimes even a good dump. It is ALWAYS safer to upgrade and downgrade from 2.00 after 2.60/2.71.

Bull. The downgrade from 2.60>1.50 leaves just as much files as 2.00>1.50. Both downgrades leave leftover files, but since their not used in 1.50, they have no effect. Stop wasting peoples time with this "clean" and "unclean" firmware, its nonsense.

There's no such thing as a "clean" and "dirty" firmware.

POC is the only Custom Firmware I use. Everything else has boot up options i don't like. =/

It's one of those questions where if you have to ASK others if it's safe then you're too stupid to do your own research and shouldn't be messing with it in the first place.
So of course I told her it wasn't safe at all for HER to install it.
Those are the folks that can't search the forums, read what's inside a 'readme.txt' file, and annoy everyone with "OMFGBBQWTF! I bricked my PSP!" threads.

POC seems safe to me and I didn't get a "clean" FW either. I downgraded from 2.71 and started adding stuff. All my stuff works fine. I'm not upgading and downgrading again because I don't feel like installing everything over again like I had to do when I got my 1GB stick yesterday.

Well I did it for peace of mind and because everyone else said it was a good idea to. I looked at people who didn't do it and they ran apps like x-flash, custom firmware and themepsp and bricked their psps.

So to me it was worth it to back up to 2.0 and back down to 1.5..

ya i agree with you cuz to have a "dirty" fireware the pearson who gave you the dump would have to be "dirty" and if the person who made the dump had a "dirty" firmware then they wouldnt be able to make a dump.

Why wouldn't you just upgrade to 2.0 then back to 1.5? Are you possibly that lazy?

You can semi brick it if you do it on an "unclean" PSP (and have a better chance doing it).

Its 100% clean, but there are leftover files in the f1 from the downgrade (i found my Disturbed band wallpaper today while looking thru my psp)...

But if u want to know how i did it:
1) Downdate[grade] from 2.60 to 1.50 using GTA exploit.
2) Upgrade to 2.00
3) Downgrade back to 1.50 using MPH's downgrade

The only reason i did that is b/c RUMUMD would'nt work for one of my games after using the 2.60 downdater, and i read that using the 2.00 downgrader would fix the prob... which it did
