Default "Bookmarking" in Pixie beta 2

Hi, I have been using the wonderful pixie reader for a while now, I really dig the change text direction it is literally like making your psp into one of those $200 handheld ebook readers

However any time I try to bookmark it works as long as the program runs but once I exit it, it forgets my place, this is with a .book file if that makes any difference.

So I was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this uh, undocumented feature or I am I the only lucky one, I do enjoy the program I just dont like having to scroll 100+ pages to get to where I was.

p.s. If there is a similar text reader that can turn the text sideways and bookmark, please let me know.

Pixie usually makes a .ind file for every book you read and this file keeps your place. I don't use the bookmark feature because, well, i don't need it if the .ind file remembers where i've left off. Make sure when you're done reading you press Start, this will exit you to the main interface and (i think) saves your place.

Also whenever i make a .book with the convert tool it cuts out all the quotation marks. Anyone else having that problem? It's very annoying.

yeah all the .book files have included the " marks, I made them using the older method without the bath file if thats any help.

But yeah tried what you said even deleted the .ind file but no luck

Oh well, could if have something to do wit the text orientation when I exit?

hmm maybe I should try remaking with the new batch file just in case.

well tried remaking the book files with the newest tools off his site but tstill no luck, what I ended up doing was adding in the chaoter code before each chapter in html and that lets me skip directly to chapters, its the best way I've figured out anyway.

Exclamation Sasq where are you?

I am having the same problem. bookmark works fine as long as i don't exit the program. i know it doesn't seem to write to ms since the light doesn't come on when i boolmark. kudos though, love the prog. tried pspreader and it doesn't seem to work at all. on a side note makefonts is erratic, used it on some comps with all errors, mine errors out half way through. i haven't read a real book probably in 3 yrs. thanks.

Sony, you're selling your self short. You got a pda, mp3, mpeg, photo viewer, ++++++, and your just sticking on piracy. Sega doesn't sell systems anymore. Ever heard of ipod? They sell songs at a dollar a pop online. Dollar a pop for songs, nes, snes, sega, etc.... Yes, i know technically astute individuals can already do this whenever they want. What part of your marketing segment does that match? Damn, I should get charged for this ****! Although I think the saki and 100 degree bathes would kill me.

Think about it, sell the games online. No manufacturing costs. They store it on their comps, when they want to play they swap it out on your 1gb ms.

Keep going the way you want, paying those exects to steer you the wrong way. I don't understand how I got my degree and still doing the low man jobs. Someone must be blowing someone, or the older execs just don't understand the youth.

right well sony cant liscence the emus because well... they sont have the liscences to make games bases on past hardware and it would be too much of a pain to get it to work on other systems like the psp

what im trying to say is can anyone tell me why the pixie beta 2 booksmakr option does not work for me?

Pixie runs fine here (havnt tried bookmarking though). My only problem is the one where if im reading it in side on view, it doesnt remember where i am in the book. Remembers if its in normal view though.

Thumbs up Bookmarking does not work

I tried what intermission said. Left the screen to the default and hit start, when I reload pixie and go in to the same book it just takes me to the begining.

This probably isn't a major fix. By the way what are homebrew apps coded in? Been a while since i messed with c++.

On a side note, free books www.gutenberg.org

I'll probably be done with my first book tomorrow. (1st Harry Potter :P don't see what my girlfriend sees in it) Never been able to read stuff on my comp. Just not comfortable. With a psp it's just like a book. Love the sideways read. Hope your still working on it sasq. The psp rocks, even if it didn't have licensed games, sony needs to wake up.

uratrtl, the emus are mostly opensource-freeware. Hire the coders to optimize totally with the psp, hell they could add features. have a subscription service just like apple-ipod, sega doesn't do hardware anymore i am sure they would license their games for resale thru sony. $1-2 a pop? Why not? Either that or just sell UMDs with 50-100-xxx games on it for $20. sony just isn't thinking outside the box.
