If you bricked the other one using the 2.71 process, it's possible you did it wrong, or just a chance that it didn't work. The chances of it happening again are, well, pretty tough lol.

What's the current firmware of the PSP btw?

It also depends on what you're going to use to use the 1.5 PSP for I guess..

ATM, eLoader 0.99 is a work in progress. Kernal access could add a few features to the already interesting 2.6 'brew scene. Also, the new exploit by 0okm gives kernal access, which would theoretically add more functionality to the 2.5/6 PSPs.

Right now, just wait and see what happens I guess. Don't risk bricking your PSP if you aren't comfterable with the risks.

I would say that if you're going to need prescription anti-depressants if it bricks, it's not quite worth it.

Well if you want to downgrade I think the brick rate is about 15%.
But those bricks are just human error so if you have everything setup right you should be fine.

i don't quite follow your first post.......did you bother checking to see if YOUR psp had a ta-082 board in it? it's pretty safe to say that your brother's psp is downgradable, but you could stick with eloader if you don't want to risk anything.

Default I just downgrade my PSP, and it's worth it!.

I've been visiting these forums for quite a while, but I never downgraded because of fear of bricking my PSP. I used the easy downgrader (FULL) version, and everything when smooth. Most of the people who brick their PSP's are those who

1. Didn't read the instructions.
2. Didn't place the files in the right directory.
3. Obtained a corrupt files.

If you take into consideration all of those people, the downgrade rate it's closer to 99%.

PSP Radio makes it all worth while. It is by far the best application ever!. I can't believe how great it is (im listening to it right now ). If I would of known how great it was, I would of risk downgrading a long time ago. I also just started messing around with Bookr, PSP Infrared remote, PSP PDA, Mapthis, which are all great applications. If I where you, I would defenetly downgrade, but only using the FULL version of the easy downgrader!.

I agree with GhostRider.....

People who brick most often brick because of a user error.

I'm waiting for the new eLoader and VCS....I'll downgrade if I have to...

Yep. Easy downgrader works 100% and it won't brick. I tried and now I have a 1.5 with anything I ever wished for. Yay for PSP Revolution and the full res videos! And my PSP is in a sense a pocket PC now because of IR Shell and all the other stuffs. It only lacks a keyboard but I can just go with the keypad system. Will try out the IR keyboard thing as soon as I get my hands on an IR keyboard. Once again, it's 100% safe and all you need to do is follow the instructions of the Easy Downgrader.
