Default Any news on a new devhook version?

Does anyone know if Booster is continuing on with devhook? It's been AGES since 2.81 was decrypted and no other version of devhook took this long to make.

If Booster has indeed moved on does anyone know if another developer will continue with devhook? I'm guessing GTA Vice City stories will need 2.8 to run (if Sony is smart), So I wont be able to play it until devhook is updated...

It will be released when it's done.

I'm sure it is.
There's just absolutely NO reason to release it now since no game currently released requires 2.8+ firmware to run.

Indeed, the second it's released, Sony gets some great idea on how to improve their encryption, and *poof* out comes the all new 2.90 obstacle, with absolutely no features worth cracking.

How bout we all wait till its a necessity rather than the accessory we can make it now. :P

That way Sony won't get any idea's, and that will make 3.00 alot easier on the hard working Dev's.

Besides, go annoy harleyg, he claims to have a beta. :P

you should avoid making threads asking when something will be released lest you get flamed like hell. But i think he's taking so long because he's making a custom firmware from what i heard a long time ago.

absolutely nothing will ever be released and require the latest firmware? I find that a little hard to believe but i'll have to take your word to the extent of all the games already released

To date there has not been one single UMD release game that requires 2.8 firmware.
That's EXACTLY what I said. Now, months down the road there might be more, but Sony has recently said - this week I think - that 110 new PSP games will be released BEFORE 2007, so there's a good chance that some of them will require it.

While there may be only 1 UMD release that requires 2.80, keep in mind that several released demos do require the firmware.

There was a thread some time ago annoucing that a new version of devhook is being worked on; it is simply a matter of patience at this point.

Since we don't allow threads asking for updates concerning particular projects I will close this.
