well, he said he was working on the softdown maybe for months, and before he can softdown one of the public, one kid apperently tried to hack his gmail account, now how would you know if someone "tried" to hack you, and if you were him would you just stop what youve been working on so long fir an idiot like that, discuss, and 0okm if you see this, pm me

I don't think he is a liar, and if you do, you don't know who 0okm is. He's helped the homebrew world immensley, and made a lot of homebrew execution possible.

Someone probably hacked his account and sent bogus emails to people, thats my theory. Anyway, I think that someone hacking into his account dissapointed him, and he lost faith in the goodness of people, and dicided that if people are that bad, why should he reward them? That's just my idea, I have no clue what his real thinking is behind him stoping production on his method.

I belive in him, i just dont see why he would stop something i belive he worked so hard on all of a sudden because of some stupid attmepted Gmail hack. Thier are tons of people just depening on him and i mean all the TA-082's out thier, i kind of feel hes let them down for now, for actually stoping all efforts on the SoftDown project, I mean in developing it further to support 2.5+ TA-082's because the majority is 2.8 and up, also hes stoped work on creating a public downgrader for that TA-082's as well which i feel is somewhat disappointing, i mean cmon the guy is famous and what did he expect? He knew someone would attempt to hack him one way or another....its just disappoionting how hes let everyone down for now.....

Did anyone get their TA-082 downgraded? I mean it was what, 3 days from when he said he opened shop, to when he said closed. If he's not fulla crap, he must have gotten at least one done in that time period.

Maybe his method, which no one else has been able to duplicate, and which might have showed promise at one point, just couldnt be made to work for the public. And so instead of admitting a failure, he decided to jsut give up. Fair enough- giving up takes a lot of guts, but if thats the case why not just own up to it?

I cant believe that after so long working on it, and due to the machinations of one moron, he would give up on SoftDown. Either he is too much of a coward to admit his method doesnt work... OR... he is extremely selfish to have something finished that works and can help so many people, but yet deny them that. Or maybe too immature to realise that? It is after all selfish to punish so many over one email hack, assuming that there was an actual email hack in the first place.

I read about this before its said that TA-082 cant handle 1.00 - 2.01 firmwire it can not be executed and if put on the firmwire board will brick, so if the psp is at 2.71 with TA-082 it CAN be downgraded to 2.50 and thats it NO LOWER.

I started to believe in Ookm when he said TA-082 didn't support the chip, I thought OMG, I don't know about any other supports from him (I'm not saying I've been looking and never found anything, I'm saying I've never heard of), but this softdown is extremely bogus, maybe there wasn't even a hacker...

well, what i say, if none of the stuff about ta-082 he claims is bogus, i believe he should tell Math, and Dark_alex away to use his method of softdown and there method of 2.71 custom firmware, mix them together and make a custom firmware for Ta-082 aswell

IT's a lie, just like i said, even a 5th grader can make it out. Don't you think it's stupid that just one person "hacked" his google email account, and he suddenly removed the hack? Why would any psp homebrew developer care about that? TA-082 people would have been appreciative of his effort and giving him support *if* he did do what he said. Developers always go through that ****, Dark_Alex goes through it, I'm sure Fanjita and the noobz team goes through it, but do they ***** out like this? No. There is no reason to, we always make sure to give them support and let them know we appreciate their efforts. For 0okm to backout like this is just low like a previous poster said, very unethical. I mean come on!! He left cause someone hacked a goddamn google account???? Don't tell me you seriously buy that. First of all, he wanted people's "ISP email" their PSP's serial number (Eventhough this might be required for the softdown process, i'm not sure), etc. WTF? To prevent the executable from bwing leaked? That's not a good enough reason. People will be bricking their psp's at their own risk if they used something that's leaked. The entire PSP community works on the basis of anonimity, and for 0okm to ask for personally identifyable information is not at all ethical of a developer in a homebrew community. And not to mention, he was barely giving us *any* updates on the whole thing despite taking such a long time.

If so, why did he return the money you ask? Because if he didn't he might have had his butt kicked.

Dev appreciation? Fair enough. But when a dev does something odd like this are we suddenly all to pretend it didnt happen? We are only voicing opinions after all. Since when did that become a crime? Turning a blind eye to this in consideration of his past contributions to the scene is one thing, but getting all pissy about people questioning whats going on is plain ridiculous. Why dont you all change the message under your avatar to PSPDevLover or something similarly transparent and pathetic.
