What colour is used to have a transparent background?
well if u just use like a transparent firweorks png file, then u r going to have to open it with paint and make the transparent part black and then save as a 256-bit bmp, then it wil work.
I've managed to replace all but the Game icon with the origials one by one :)

I think they could be done better if someone gets 6 screenshots of their
XMB with a black background, one with every icon selected.
Then we could get the originals that way.
I can't do the snapshot since I can't get Devhook working in 3.02 OE.

Art: try the svc capture prx for 3.02 OE. it lets you take screenshots and animated gifs of the xmb, in-game, and POPS.

Put your modified topmenu_plugin.rco in the Modified folder (for 3.02 OE only).

I didn't start with bitmaps, execpt for the Game,,, er ,, Exec icon.
I don't know why noone has bothered to change all XMB icons if they aren't
going to be kept to the original colour palette.
IMHO every example I've seen with just the six changed to fancy graphics,
and the rest in the submenus left original looks shocking.
It would be neat to be able to change the icons and text to a different color as ever since I took my first screenshot with that one module and it made my entire screen go negative, I've thougth that a psp with black icons and text would be so badass. :)
RSSicon is orignal (from 2.60 RCO) and capture other icons is nearly impossible, becouse original icons contains ALPHA in palette, i tryed it ...Zitat:

I'll bet that the wave graphic, PSP gameboot graphic, and coldboot Sony Computer Entertainment graphic can also be changed.

I was guessing they were ALL pngs for that reason.

It uses bmp2mig (written by kgsws) then uses something called icon-coder (doesn't say who made it) to make .dats out of the .migs, then joins them into topmenu_plugin.rco.
