If you backup your original topmenuplugin.rco before you flash another one then all you have to do it flash the old one back to restore you original icons. No need to downgrade.Zitat:

I tried this and the icon doesn't lose its colour yet when i try to create the topmenu_plugin.rco it always fails. It must be something with the settings in photoshop ? When i set it to "Local (Adaptive)" are there any other settings there that have to be set ?Zitat:

try changing image size and then doing it again...

Make sure that your image is 64x64 and it will always work.
I've tested it with about 40 images now lol.
Nope it still fails :(
I create a new image 64x64 with black background, then i paste the 50x50 pic on to it that i want as the image. Then i change from rgb colour to indexed colour, then make the pallete Local (Adaptive) with colours 256, forced none, transparency ticked. Then i save as 1.bmp, Now when i open the software to create the rco file it always fails as it doesn't like the image i've created. This is driving me crazy.
Did you have all 5 images in the folder?
It won't work unless all are there.
PS: After you save with PS, you must open with paint, edit 1 pixel, and the go to File->Save
Yup still getting the fail :( Can somebody make me some D.O.A icons instead.
Ok, as much as I've tried i just cant get it to work, i went through the guide got my files in 64x64 8 bit format but it still wont copy to my rco. so now i have a question ,
is it possible to flash to 3.03 OE-A and if so, can someone make and send me the rco?
Hi just wanted to let anyone reading this know that I've just posted an English translation of kgsws's xmb icon converter. So now you don't have to wonder what Prevod ... Hotovo or Soubory Nalazeny mean??? :D (Converting ... Done!, Files ready...)

can someone make some ff7 icons for firmware 3.03
Even though most people seem to be more interested in, or at least simply content with, changing their main XMB icons, there was some discussion a few pages back (more like 10-15 pages) on how to go about changing all of the icons, or at least where they existed in flash. Does anyone happen to know where any of this information actually is? Since it was only hinted at on this thread, and no real information as to how you might do it was given. Any of that info, or pointers to it would be useful (NOT pointers to anything in this thread unless there were some specific details mentioned in this thread I missed)
actully there is alot of info early in this thread
Edit: I posted this a while back so it has no info on the custom icons

Okay, here is my first attempt at the XMB icon hack.
It's a Bio Hazzard theme, not the game or that crap movie, but the actual Bio Hazzard symbol.
The attached JPG is a screen shot showing all 6 icons.
Yes, this works on the 3.03OEx firmware!
Let me know if you like them!
Appreciation to "Deturbanator" for getting me started with his template.
Okay, this is my second attempt at the XMB icon hack.
I like this one better for some reason, all though it wasn't as difficult to create. (I imagine that's because it isn't circular, which was tough on the transparancy situation with the 8-bit restrictions.)
Anyway, it's a 3D triangular shaped theme, using icons that i made myself.
Hope you like 'em! :)

Heh, I like it but use my conversion method so that you do not loose colors.
It will look great full-colored. :D
Hey »GmDude66« thanks!
I have done every possible combination of conversions there are for these icons, and I simply cannot get the palette settings to be accepted by anything other than the Windows System palette!!! :Argh:
Local (Adaptive) and Local (Selective) both fail when running through kgsws's converter, even if i edit a pixel with MSPaint as a final step. The converter fails on the last step and says the image is "too big", even though it is 8bit, 64x64, 5176 bytes, etc, etc. If i take the same image with the exact same steps but choose the Windows System palette, it works everytime.
Your conversion method is solid, and i appreciate your post (i read it and used it), but i cannot get around the palette settings problem. It'll be great to make these a bit nicer, any advice would be great.
cheerz
If you're using photoshop then setting the diffusion to 100 percent when selecting the palette, can help blend the colors out a little more cleanly so it doesn't look so tie-dyed.
have anyone edited kgsws"s icon changer to use thes icons instead of USB one etc???Zitat:
Zitat von »GmDude66«
if not i can send them to kgsws, i think this will be quick update for him...
cheers
My friend and I are actually trying to produce a better version of kgsws's work. Mainly make it so you don't lose your shadow and glow portions of you icons ( would require you to make your own, but at least you'd be able to have them), allow replacing of the sub icons, keep all the original icons (what you are asking about myschoo), and hopefully eliminate the picky nature of the converter when it comes to icon size and such. Unfortunately there is some information that we are missing, namely header stuff in the mig format, that I already tried PMing kgsws about. So if you could ask to check his PMs if he hasn't already that'd be great.
i will tell him
I haven't had any time to do it I have a project to do over the weekend so I don't think ill do it for another weekZitat:
Zitat von myschoo
maybe kgsws will do it but hes a little bit lazy :D and he has other things to do
Well I found time to do it took about an hour. I'm going to test it then upload.
can anyone find me some MGS themed icons? or help me with making them without photoshop? and how do i install/ make/ convert for 3.03 oe-b???
Ok I made mistake and the icons i used where not right so dont expect the icons before the end of the weekend
Any luck, dude?Zitat:
Zitat von zmathue

Awesome, I look forward to any upcoming releases :)Zitat:
