I fixed the icons again but I had some problems with the icons I just fixed them so it should take a half an hour for the icons
are we able to change sub menu icons in XMB Yet???
Factory 3.00+ Icons On 3.02/3 OE-B With Custom Icons
Replace the .dat files with the .dat files in kgsws's app in the data folder
zac.dat - Adds the Certificate utility text to the icon and fixes the text onthe online instruction manuals
kon - fixes the icons to factory 3.00+ icons
Sorry about the rss icon I know it looks bad but its the best I could get without having an ugly black line around it.

thanks anyway.. just flashed it.. yeah the rss icon is a lil bit to the right..
heres the image i used if some one could make it look better when you flash it to like a normal icon ex. name it 1.bmp so its the settings icon in your xmb and it still looks good upload it at sendspace and i will update my app.

This is the RSS icon I was going to use.. I don't know if it's any better.
Since the icons that have been fiddled with don't have the flashing glow,
I think it would be good to remove that effect from all icons.
i can remove the glow but i think it will just make it look stupid because where all used ito itZitat:

Please do tell us how to remove the glowing effect as that would be nice.
this is sort the cheep way because it keeps the icon data in the fileso the file is the same size
1.open topmenu_plugin.rco(or zac.dat in kgsws's app /data if you want it to effect every set of icons you make) in a hex editor
2.searce for tex_fcs
3.hex out any string (seperated by a byte of 00) that starts with tex_fcs
It should work untested altough
Umm I'm a tad bit new to hex editing but not entirely unfamiliar with it, this would be the first time I've done something useful with it. Anyway I think I managed to do it right if it works I'll post the no glow files for those who don't want to hex-edit.Zitat:

no i know how to manually pad a file the problem is I don't know how to do it in visual basic which is a programing language if you didn't know

Hey I think the current RSS settings icon looked crappy so heres my take on it:

anyway all it needs is to be run through the converter by kgsws (i already did the photoshop and MSpaint steps) and it should be ready to stick into the program.
Edit: Oh and I tried hex editing the zac.dat file (turning the text strings "tex_fcs" to null characters and it didnt work for me. The Topmenuplugin crashed devhook, which hasnt happened to me. Using the origional zac.dat file fixed the error so there must be something I'm doing wrong. All well

No problem just doing my part for the community, lol.
Anyway I tried to cut off as much of the black outline without distorting the icon but after removing most of the black there is a noticable difference to the other similar icons in the Settings menu:( . All well I'll leave future improvements to those who really know how to use photoshop (cause I don't).
Also can you include the no glow XMB Icons in your next release because I'm having trouble hex editing them out.
P.S. This release should go public, can someone notify QJ of the updates we made to the icon converter?

If we ever get full sub-icon support, that would be definite frontpage material.
Then again, the frontpage has been known to post less than useful information from time to time.
Anubis the problem is the icon will not be the same size, but as I'm writing this I think I can just include dummy files and open them for parsing so that it overwrites the begging of itZitat:

Idk Anubis I think a lot of people might be interested in this but I do agree that It could use some more features before it goes front page. Oh and I also noticed that the icons for just about anything under the network icon was off center so that would definitely be something to address before any release.
Like the RSS icon under Network doesn't align with the Internet Browser Icon (it looks like it needs to move a pixel to the right). The Remote Play Icon is way too close to the right i think it could do with a movement of about three pixels to the left and perhaps the Online Instruction Manuals could also move a pixel to the left (although its much less noticeable than the other two). I would post screenshots but I don't know how to run modules through devhook:confused:.
The Camera icon looks perfect and I wish the RSS icon could go further to the left but I know it can't cause I made it (I made sure it was as far left as it can go) I think some icons have a semi 3-d effect that causes them to shift a bit further than we are capable of.
Anyway looking forward to all future releases:Punk: . Now I just gotta find some good Icons....

ya now that i look at it more closely they do seem a little off
the first breakthroughs are never pretty but this is ....much better than the first release and we were happy to live with it so good work guys ....can't wait for the sub icon hack then every1's psp will truely look different.....
