i just found this website,it shows where files are placed and how the licence works,hope it helps

well it looks like you must have an original memory stick (they want you to buy an official one) and the licence is basically a file created for each psp,from the ps3 itself.I dont think each psp will be registered online.

Wow all that engrish is confusing, and i'd probably really need to get a 4gig if i ever want to use the ps1 emulator play FFVII/VIII/IX. =(

Seems pretty hard to get them illegally, thats for sure. You can't really call it an emulator can you? Because it's not emulating it since it's an eboot which is run natively. And until I can backup and play any ps1 game I own I'm not interested in this.

that's what I got out of it too. But the licence could easily be replaced or placed in a psp

Yeah maybe they add the cert in 2 files, maybe the mac in one file and some encriptyon in other. who knows..... :S

Why does Sony require a PS3 to play PS1 games on the PSP? How many people actually own a PS3? I think its just bad business sense.
