So you're F#$%ed when you have v1.51+

Once they get a hardware mod out, modchip status, firmware wont matter.. Just gotta be patient.. Like me.. Anyways, unless you want to miss out completely... (reffering to all the new games) You'll upgrade anyways.. Just be patient!!

Upgrade to 2.0, theres more chance of an explot found, (using the logic of more features you add the more holes there are.) However thats a slim chance. Plus youll get a browser and the abilty to change backgrounds, its a start. As for mod chips, well that would be tricky VERY VERY tricky, mainly because of the psp's size, don't count on it happing soon.

As for the psp being useless, why did you buy it in the 1st place, obviously you didnt know about this site, or any others because you would have found out about homebrewed.

i have a lot of faith in 2.0 allowing homebrew. Europe is a big place and lots of 1337 h4xx0rz there that will dedicate nonstop work to the cause. I'm sure it'll happen once all the europeans get their hands on the new firmware...most likely when they are released there

well in response to that...alot of us got the first generation psps and if you weren't around in the very early days the majority of the word was all "homebrew on 1.0" everyone was treating 1.5 as 1.51/2 is being treated now until Kexploit was released.

i for one got my psp just for the multimedia capabilities of putting anime/tv shows on it + music instead of having an ipod...i checked the scene and saw homebrew, a good month went by with nothing but word about 1.0 and I totally forgot about psp updates. I updated to 1.51 one day that I was bored thinking that 1.51 actually had a sufficient update in it and then only a while ago i decided to come back and see how the psp scene is going to find that 1.5 was exploited and I'm no longer able to use homebrews.

despite the reason for which I got it, which i'm still satisfied with, I feel an hollow spot in the soul of my psp because it isn't fulfilling every last bit of potential it can.

Actually one of the biggest reasons I bought a PSP is because I knew about the homebrew scene.

yeah and you realize that he wasn't talking to you, he was talking to the guy who didn't knew about homebrew, and call his psp useless now that he knows there is homebrew even though he brought the psp not knowing that there was homebrew for it...

when i got my psp i didnt care about hombrew i was happy as hell just to have this bad boy in my hands when i first got it anyway im trying to say i brought my psp for the psp games not the cool snes games

Me too. That's why I'm going to update.

Anyway, let me tell you something right now. I was born in the late NES era.

My first game system was a Game Boy Pocket, and my first actual console was...

dun dun dun...

a Gamecube.

You might find that incredibly strange, but it's true.

Thus there's no nostalgia for me in N64, SNES, PSX, NES, or any other such games. While I have an N64 and a bunch of PSX games for my PS2, I don't even really like alll of those games that much. Anyway, I've got SM64DS and Rayman DS if I want to get my fill of the N64/PSX era.

For me, when it comes to oldskool games, Atari is where it's at.

And don't you worry- I'll have a JavaScript Missile Command on 2.0 in no time.
