Default Writing to flash0 [2.80]

I'm sorry to make a poll for this but I am cautious to flashing any gameboots/sounds/wallpapers to my PSP (v2.8). I would like to see the success rate of flashing a custom gameboot and how high the chance of bricking it would be.

(Please vote only if you flashed anything such as custom gameboot, sound, wallpaper ON A 2.80 PSP.)

Really? In the other thread, they say gameboots are more of a risk. I would just want a gameboot that would say "Tommy's PSP" just incase someone tried to steal my PSP. x]

u cant brick when flashing a theme even if it is corrupt it will display plain white not brick because checksum on 2.8 doesnt check for modification on this or gameboot or opening sound but opening sound is m0st risky if corrupt psp wont boot like poor madsouls psp.

Do you realize that you just said a corrupt theme won't brick your PSP, then said that a corrupt theme bricked madsoul's PSP?

In other words, yes, a corrupt theme MOST DEFINITELY can brick your PSP -_-

Free play, he said the opening sound was most risky, and thats what bricked
MaDSouL's psp, opening_plugin.rco.

And if you have a corrupt theme, it won't brick, it will just show a white screen.

What about a corrupt gameboot as well? It will not brick?

What are you guys even talking about when you say "theme?" A background? Because that's a background, not a theme. A theme customizes the background, gameboot, boot sound, etc. That's why I said a corrupt theme was what bricked Madsoul's PSP - he used a custom boot sound.

I had a few questions. Is there anyway to get that black wavy background?

also lets say you flashed your psp and one day a downgrader comes out. If you downgrate would your psp get bricked or not? (not really a hacker psp pro)

To get the black background, you flash a black background over the originals... 01.BMP through 12.BMP in flash0:/vsh/resource. And yes, you can downgrade after flashing.
