No one with a US psp upgrade to the JP 2.00 upgrade when it comes out.
I'll use my psp and if it works i'lll tell you guys it's ok and if it dosen't, only one psp will be bricked
I already upgraded my US PSP with the 1.52 JP update.
Just giving all User's a 1 Day Warning.

I doubt there will be bricking involved... you'll probly just get an eteirnally Japanese PSP... but ok... I don't have to worry any way

your not taking much iof a risk becuase u cant brick your psp that way... the only thing that might do is not connect to the internet correct via browser

And if you can't connect then you update for nothing....

I thought the games had a region thing. So if someone upgrades with JP version won't it make his PSP only play JP only games and not US only games?

Incorrect. Games have no region encoding whatsoever. only movies and music.

And as for using a jap update on your american psp, it may have worked for 1.52 but that only pacthed a universal problem on both systems, i think with this significant update wouldnt sony most likley put a region checker on the 2.0 firmware to stop possible "bricking" other mishaps, from updating firmware from different regions, seem like the most logical solution.

Sony would have thought of the problems of cross region updating and taken steps to either ensure that major updates dont cause problems. By either making them combatible or blocking them. It's highly unlikley anything will go wrong.

I will update as soon as the update comes up.I have also thought about a program to make sure it has the right region code.

dont quote me on this, but I Think In The faq here at pspupdates it says the firmware has no encoding or differnece between the regions.. it just installs on the language you have set on your psp

one word of advise i got a leaked version off my friend who works for soney and its the jp version and yes it borke my psp went from 1.5us-2.0jp

blank screen and the psp wont do anyhhing but a green light.. :boohoo:

sony also said that the leaked version is bugged, and to not download it. it costs 12,000yen to repair it.
