I don't think there is any way as of now to change the first page to google, but I bet within the next few days someone will make an english port or something like that.

i tried to edit the config file to go to google, however I didn't have long and was unsuccessful. Kinda hard to do as it isn't in a language I can understand...but maybe someone will (as previously posted) translate it and add a bar for URL input.

Well at the moment I am going thru it with a hex editor, and found an IP and a url...First I am going to see if it works un edited, then I will try to change the IP and url.

Well this is a homebrew brower, so for one its alot easier to load, no special loader or anything.

Say hello to firmware 2.0.
I really don't want to be dealing with a buggy browser...

Until 2.0 is able to run the slightest homebrew, I am sticking with 1.5, cuz after playing Super Mario World and Phantasy Star 4, I don't want to give it up :P

I have translated a lot of the GUI of this browser, anyone can do it really. But I am not going to release it until I figure out how to get a psp portal out there to load on here. The code isn't very complicated so it should be relatively easy to get it to work. I still wish my korean browser attempt would have worked -.- it had a nice skinnable web browser.

Well shoot me a PM if you need someone to test it dude...I would be more than happy to test it. Yea the code isnt that complicated, but I am not good at hex editing, so I would screw up the file. BTW, http://game9.2ch.net/gameurawaza/subback.html that is the URL that the PSP goes to by default. So leme know if you need any help at all.

Thnx, Protoss

somehow I deleted the link the message board -.- now if I can just retrace my steps I will be on the right track to getting the text description to redirect to an IP address or website successfully. I had made a bunch of other changes all at the same time -.- (mainly translating what I can).

It's very strange since one part of the URL is split from the other in the hex editor...

Oh and just so I know, what are you using to edit this?

Well that url it goes to is a rss feed of sorts, at least by the looks of it. So I don't know if it can. Any progress on getting it to view other sites? Oh, have you got MSN or anything? I'd just like to chat with what you've come across in the code.

Does the file have two programs? One is the proper 2ch program and then there is another one that is in Japenese that shows my wi-fi connections. The 2ch one won't start and the Japenese thing, I think, tries to connect to the wi-fi but it just repeats the process over and over and doesn't work.

**UPDATE there is no code in there that relates to any image formats**

well I am bout to head off to bed, but yes I have successfully gotten other webpages to load, but they do not render they only display the source code. And since you say that the default is an RSS feed that is probably why. I just now looked at the default home pages source and it is very simple and basic html tags with a href links.

Basicly I do not believe this to be an actual web browser in terms of rendering pages to the likes of wipeout or whatever. It is just an RSS viewer it appears and theoritically you can change it to other RSS feeds then. I have never done anything with RSS feeds so I know very lil about them.

Here is how to change it, so it loads different websites(RSS feeds)

Find ip address 206.223.152.30 and change it to your RSS site IP address
you can ping the domain name for the IP.

next replace game9.2ch.net with the domain name(if you do not have enough room you can copy a chunk of data then write it however many empty blocks you have avaliable in previous areas of the hex code, then zero out the repeating characters or type over them)

next replace the gameurawaza directory with the new directory(some sites may not have this in which case you will simple erase it and I don't know if it will work without one, haven't done enough testing)

Next replace gameurawaza/subback.html with your directory name and the html page.

Sorry for this not being very detailed and with nice pics but that is the rough idea and I have tested this with google which did not render, source only.

Here are examples what I replaced the above with

216.239.57.99
www.google.com
en or firefox
en/index.html or firefox/index.html

I screwed up the cache system with my translated version so I will have to re do it but a plain RSS viewer is not very valueable to me -.- til tomorrow good nite

Protoss, my msn is deciever@hotmail.com

Also for those who are hex editing this thing you will need to delete your 2ch_browser folder, which is your cache, after each edit, otherwise it can cause your hex edits to freeze up or not load the proper page it seems.

set your IP address to a manual one, if you have not done that. Dynamic(Automatic) it has problems with.

Yea I couldn't get it to work...for some reason when it crashes, it shuts off my PSP. Well I guess it's either a proof of concept program, or a work in progress...I am rooting for the latter :P

Protoss if you weren't deleting your 2ch_browser folder that may be related to your crashing problem, mine crashed a good bit too. Between that and a horribly unstable ISP -.-

But like I said it does not appear to have any image support so it is kinda pointless to me now.

Yea just deleted my cache...I don't know what else could be wrong. I guess this is just a proof of concept. Hopefully something good will come out of this, if the dev releases their source.
